Sophia pretty much lived at the hospital, making sure both Ty and Cate weren’t left alone once, and the only time she managed to get back home was for a quick shower and clothes change, which made her literally exhausted, and lack of sleep and the minor pain she still got from her shoulder made her look even more pale than usual, but she was too stubborn and too busy to get any decent rest.
Walking into her bedroom, she sat down on her bed and took a deep breath.. but before she could lay down to grab a half an hour nap, her phone rang. Glancing over at it, her stomach flipped as she saw Shona’s ID, and she reached for it quickly, stretching her bad shoulder out and causing her to wince as she did. Trying to ignore it, she put the phone to her ear.Â
“Shona? What’s up? Is he okay?” she asked quickly. They had only been waiting a week for Tyree to wake up, but that week still felt like a long time, especially when she was staring at a man who looked like death and hadn’t moved or changed condition in that time.Â
Hearing that he was awake was honestly the biggest relief, and Sophia literally felt like she could cry with happy tears, but as soon as she got off the phone to Shona, and unsettled feeling appeared again. She still didn’t understand why it meant so much to her that he woke up.. he was virtually a stranger.Â
She decided to wait a little bit before going to the hospital. As much as she wanted to see him awake and talk to him if it was possible, she was also scared of how much he could make her feel in such little time, and she needed to distance herself only a little to make sure it wasn't anything she got attached to.
About an hour later, Sophia walked through the now familiar halls of the hospital, making her way to Tyree’s room. Pushing the door open slowly and quietly, her eyes fell on him instantly. He seemed to be sleeping, which made it look like nothing had changed, but he had been seriously hurt so she wasn’t surprised if he needed a lot of rest.Â
Walking up to Shona, she gave her a tight hug before telling her to go get something to eat.Â
Once it was just Sophia and Ty in the room, she sat down in the chair near his bed, pulling her legs up underneath her in an attempt to get comfortable. With her eyes locked on his face, her mind was running a million miles per hour as it had done all week.. but the most important thing was that he had woken and that with a lot of time he was going to heal.
“You woke up..” she whispered, her voice soft with no intention of waking him. “You’re going to be okay..”Â
