mike, being the nerd he is, would LOVE a job where he can just yap about his favourite books all day, and he would definetely want to feel like he's making a difference in the world (we all know mike wheeler loves to be needed), so giving kids something to be happy about and to have passion for would literally be his dream

and will loves making art SO MUCH, and teaching art is one of the few ways you can actually make decent money from it, so i feel like that's the reason he would initially go into teaching, and then he would meet all those students who he starts to see himself in and he would also want to help them find themselves in art, just like he did at their age

and it's literally perfect for them because they get to share the things they're passionate about, help people, literally work at the same place and see eachother on their breaks, AND maybe they have just enough time to write and illustrate comics together on the side

when the plan is enacted it goes like this:

student who runs the betting pool: those betting on the third mention please see me during lunch

5. Wheelby: Alternate name for Byler, originated from Creelby (Henry Creel + Patty Newby) paralleling them (Wheeler + Byers)

6. Cleradin: Their DND personas (Will the Cleric + Mike the Paladin) (there's also Miwi Cleradin, young Cleradin!)

7. Wiseheart (AKA Bravewise): Alternate name for Byler/Cleradin, originated from the van scene/painting (Will the Wise + Mike the Heart)

8. Bravebyers: Variant of Cleradin, Paladin Mike + Normal Will (Mike the Brave + Will Byers)

9. Wisewheeler (AKA wheelwise): Another variant of Cleradin, basically just Bravebyers but reversed: Cleric Will + Normal mike (Will the Wise + Mike Wheeler)

10. Sorceradin: Basically Cleradin but different, Will being a sorcerer instead of Cleric (Sorcerer + Paladin)

11. Sorceteller: Epilogue Byler (Sorcerer + Storyteller)

12. Merbyler: Mermaid Byler

13. Merbrave: Mermaid Will + Paladin Mike

14. Vampbyler: Vampire Byler

15. Vampwise (AKA Clerivamp): Vampbyler variant, Vampire Mike + Will the Wise or Cleric Will (i believe vampwise can be interpreted as either normal will or cleric will, but they're so similar i just put them in the same category cus yea)

16. Zombievamp: Zombie Will + Vampire Mike

17. Zombiewheeler: Zombie Will + Normal Mike

18. Werehare: Werewolf Mike + Bunny Will

19. Punkgoth (AKA Ghostriot): Punk Mike + Goth Will

21. Spideybyler/Webwheeler: Byler Spider-man AU, gained lots of popularity after BTS pictures of their S5 outfits paralleled Peter and MJ from NWH, but i believe it was a thing before then too (Spider-man Will + Mike "MJ" Wheeler)

22. Sharknilla: SMAU where they're both content creators, Will's handle being vanillakidbyers and Mike's being seaofwheeler & being associated with sharks, hence the name "Sharknilla"

23. One Wheat Mark (OWM) Byler: Fan-made parody comic including S2 Byler, made around (i think?) 2022

24. Scoops Ahoy Mike + Normal Will (idk the ship name sorry!!!): AU where Mike and Max work at Scoops Ahoy instead of Steve and Robin, so it's like S3 byler but different and cooler... (although, it doesn't have to be S3, the possibilities are endless guys ✌️ i actually think it usually isn't because since they're supposed to parallel stobin they're usually aged up in this AU, or just their epilogue ages)

25. Surfsahoy: AU where Will works at Surfer Boy Pizza and Mike works at Scoops Ahoy (with Max too, usually)

26. Hellcali: Hellfire Mike + California Will (some people interpret it as just the outfits that they never saw each other in at the beginning of S4, Mike's Hellfire Club shirt & Will's yellow shirt with red stripes, but it can also be interpreted as Byler being long distance boyfriends during the S3-S4 time skip)

27. Stormheart: Byler How to Train Your Dragon AU (there's more lore to this i believe but idk the httyd lore💔)

28. Modern Byler: Modern day Byler AU

29. Colorbook: Illustrator Will + Author Mike

30. Bylearner: Art teacher Will + English teacher Mike

31. Sevenspins: Hockey player Mike + Figure skater Will

32. Wheelspins: Normal Mike + Figure skater Will
