when or if I started shipping it: i’m honestly not sure... not long before i met you, though!

my thoughts: i like it as a brief fling and/or maybe long-distance yearning while hakuei spends some time abroad in sindria. they would definitely have an interesting dynamic (before arba, that is) but in the long run, i don’t really know if they could work. hakuei wouldn’t accept someone so shady unless it was political and sinbad... getting him to settle down takes a lot.

What makes me happy about them: they’re both very open-minded, yet they have the potential to open each other’s minds a little further. they complement each other in some ways while being just different enough to provide unique challenges and opportunities for growth. even as a short term thing, they have a lot of potential to deeply affect each other.

What makes me sad about them: THE WHOLE ARBA THING.... bye

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: sinbad with ja’far and hakuei... is anyone in magi canon truly good enough for her... she deserves someone who will truly care for her wholeheartedly (like seisyun). ngl there is a part of me that likes hakuei/paimon tho.

My happily ever after for them: arba willingly leaves hakuei’s body in yet another attempt to cheat death, allowing hakuei’s own consciousness to return to her. similarly, david’s influence is eradicating without the need for further casualties. i am asking for way too much here, we all know someone’s gonna die and it’ll pROBABLY be at least three of the four of them, if not all four.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: they tend to sleep in each other’s arms, facing each other. alternatively, whoever goes to bed second is either: big spoon (sinbad) or side spoon (hakuei, as sinbad usually sleeps on his back).

      his mouth hardly moves an inch, never faltering from the position of a       disinterested frown. eyes, on the other hand, drift aimlessly for a       moment, before finally settling on hakuei. it was as if he made the       effort in pretending not to notice her, no less than acknowledge her words       either. 

      that was the entire purpose, you know ; ignoring her words like they       never left her mouth & weren’t buzzing in his head. to him, they sounded       louder than his heartbeat, louder than blood rushing through his veins.       louder than his own thoughts that feverishly made the attempt at blocking       everything out.

      ‘ maybe if you didn’t let me thrive, you wouldn’t be so destroyed. maybe       if you acted more than you watched, things would be different. ‘

     words tip out of his mouth in a dead tone. shoulder’s drop, relaxed ; yet       his insides are quite the opposite. maybe, he did feel guilt for quote unquote       destroying his own kin. wrecking & ruining her through war, decisions, words       & actions. carefully laid plans that were set into motion ( crack ), the breakout       of carnage & bloodshed through war ( crack ), & the ripple between a family       ( crumble ). it really was the formula to destroy, but not one that provoked       the guilt because of aftermath. 

      where guilt lacked, did defensiveness & something else he couldn’t place       rise. hakuryuu couldn’t place her intentions currently, & that was bothersome.       anything he couldn’t comprehend was discarded into  a dislike pile — if he       didn’t get something, he didn’t take kindly to it at the start.
