TONIGHT! Tune in, 7pm ET, it's gonna be fun...!
A few days into their first North American tour, Angelica from BVST sat down with Uncle Acid himself, Kevin Starrs, to talk about the perils of the music industry, the price of fame, and 1960s girl bands. Delve into the mind of one of the (previously) most mysterious men in rock, and tune in, turn on and drop some Acid with BVST, this Wednesday, October 22nd at 7pm, only on CJLO 1690AM!
Hey y'all...
... don't forget, this starts in about an hour!
Rain be damned, we're making this happen!
So some friends of mine are in a band that's cooking up quite a little storm here in Montreal... they're called Aim Low, and were just profiled in the Hour. They're popping up in all sorts of unlikely places around town. Who knows whose BBQ they might show up at next???

things that are on my mind:
I just did one of these, isn't it too soon? Oh well.
My thanks to Greg, Ariel, AndreWIXQ, Döc Holidæ, Ryan Rider and Robin for participating in last night's THOR-iffic episode of BVST on CJLO 1690AM. I had a great time, and congratulations to those of you that called in and won goodie bags & passes to the premiere!
I had sooo much Thor-appropriate music to play on the show last night, but the conversation got so geek-heavy and nerd-sweaty that there was no time for me to play any of it... so next week, in honor of Thor opening the following Friday, it'll be all hammer of the gods inspired metal.
Wireless. System Link. Xbox 360. Giddyup.
Cauldron at Il Motore this Saturday. Still haven't seen them. Would it be bad form to wear my Goat Horn tshirt?
The Royal Wedding is happening in just about 12 hours. The nuptials start at 6, but the endless handjobby coverage starts after teevee normally ends at 2 am. Question is... stay up all night, sucking down caffeinated beverages until my heart starts vibrating, or hit the sack and get up at 2am?
things that are on my mind (the americ-uh hangover edition):
I've been feeling slightly nauseous and massively lightheaded on and off during this trip. Not sure if it has been the long car rides (poor circulation?), or the fact that I currently have more fat, salt and sugar coursing through my veins than I normally have in a week... the comedown is always the worst part, with the meat withdrawal being the problem I most anticipate over the next few days.
Oh yeah, I went to the states for the long weekend. It was fun. A definite highlight was seeing almost all the Lancaster kids over two nights, hopefully they'll be up soon!
Cross border shopping is fully ridiculous. This is my damage, by the numbers:
Items purchased not available in here in Québec: 10 (including a digital-analog converter box for OTA television, three Jack Daniel's products, a bag of fist-sized marshmallows, and various sodas & snacks).
Total pre-tax, pre-currency conversion savings on products that are available in Québec, but that are much cheaper in the US: 162.49$
Estimated savings had our sales tax applied: 215.64$
Current level of discomfort from having an empty stomach for the first time in 5 days, on a scale of 1 to 10: 8.9
Best deal: saving 28.80$ on Fallout 3 GOTY, followed by saving 19.09$ on the Dazed & Confused Criterion edition.
Finally, this Wednesday will be Thor-iffic on BVST, so tune in to CJLO 1690AM in Montréal, or www.cjlo.com around the world between 7 & 9 ET to catch the fun!
So I asked this guy a question about an upcoming Thor-themed episode of my radio show, BVST, and he obliged with a list of discussion topics that is as long and thorough as it is nerdy & amusing. It's a shame PA is so far away, 'cause otherwise I'd insist that you come in as a guest host, Greg... also, thank you!
In any case, yes, this is on the horizon, so if any of you have suggestions for Thor-centric discussions, hit the ask box. Also forecasted for that episode? Lots of viking metal, Canada's own Thor, and Kiss' God of Thunder, as well as giveaways!
