“ ignoring it won’t help you get better. ”

Ienzo looked at Lea with a level gaze. His stomach unconsciously clenched; he wasn’t quite sure how he felt about the redhead. It may not have been Axel himself who had ultimately brought Zexion to his demise, but he’d been instrumental in the circumstances.
And to think, he’d actually felt friendly toward Axel at that point.
Still, it left him with unresolved feelings that surfaced whenever Lea made an appearance. For reasons he still didn’t quite understand, Ienzo’s parents had been a topic of conversation over the last few weeks. People telling him he needed to deal with the loss. No amount of avoidance seemed to work, and now even Lea was getting involved?
He let out a low sigh, not answering immediately. It was a steadfast way to ensure Ienzo didn’t go on a tangent and ramble about the subject being discussed. Finally, after a few moments of silence, he spoke.
“There’s nothing that needs to get better. My parents have been dead for years; I dealt with their loss when I was a child.”
Folding his arms across his chest, in a defensive maneuver as opposed to trying to come across challenging, Ienzo leaned back against the wall, his gaze falling to the floor. “I ignore these conversations because it’s not something I like dredging up. It hurt. It still hurts. It will probably always hurt. What will talking about it do to change that?”
