I got 2 of this same prompt back to back lol so first one: good ol Dorian and Nicos, during Veilguard!
———————
Dorian’s fingers linger at the base of Nicos’s spine, gently caressing that tantalizing dip in his back, his finely-manicured hands relishing in the warmth of his bare skin…it’s been too long between visits this time. He missed his husband something fierce.
“Don’t leave…” Dorian whispers hoarsely against Nicos’s throat, knowing it’s his weakness and not caring anyway. He’s longed to hear that excited whimper and moan again…
“I have to, erastís…” Nicos replies reluctantly, turning to give Dorian’s neck attention of his own. He wants nothing more than to stay in these arms, to escape the horrors raining down on them left and right…to pretend an old friend hasn’t come back to haunt them…
“Don’t. Let’s run away.” Dorian knows they can’t. Neither of them can put down their work, not this time.
“Dorian…” Nicos sighs, want and regret filling every syllable. “I’ll be back soon. Sooner than you think.”
“Amatus, don’t tease me,” Dorian chides, no real barb to the words. “Promise me you’ll come back…” Dorian does not beg…but Nicos has been known to bring it out of him from time to time.
Nicos presses a firm kiss to his lips and wraps him tightly in his arms. “I promise, Dorian. I’ll come back to you.” Nicos never promises lightly, but he makes sure his husband knows just how heavy a weight it will be to be apart again. He will come back.

just dropping in to say that i've been under a bus for archor for YEARS and i'm glad that this game is coming back!!!!
Oh I’m so glad to hear people are still thinking about the game! There has never been a moment where it’s not been on my mind, I just did not have the energy or time to work on it 😞 but now I do and I’m so glad to be able to do so! Thanks for sticking around so long!!
Hello, I just recently played the wip and I gotta say, it really caught my attention! This game definitely has potential! One thing though, when we first wake up from the dream in the beginning, Skip calls us sir even if our gender isn't stated yet, is this a typo or intentional?
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed Ch. 1!!
And it’s intentional. It’s brought up later if you don’t choose male as your gender.
“You should get some sleep.” Davrin’s voice is a hoarse whisper in Lairos’s ear, his warm breath an odd sort of comfort right now. He’s safe.
“What if…we do something else?” Lairos asks with a smirk, turning a little in Davrin’s arms to kiss his jaw.
Davrin chuckles, kissing him back. “We’ve done a lot of something else, vhenan,” he teases, placing a kiss on the sensitive tip of Lairos’s ear. “You need to get some rest…”
Lairos sighs, his expression falling a bit. “Fine….” he concedes, not even trying to stifle a yawn now that he’s lost the argument. “Just….don’t leave….”
“I won’t. I’ll be right here. I’m not going anywhere.” Davrin settles in and wraps Lairos comfortably in his arms. “I promise.” He seals it with a kiss.
His name is Tate but he’s a lil plant witch and just makes a lot of potatoes out of thin air so he’s called Tater. Survived for so long on just potatoes. He was found abandoned on an island when he was 4 so he’s Tater tot. He’s everybody’s best friend. The sweetiest baby ever. The bestest little son boy. Cutest baby boy. Bröther. Lil bessie. Tater tot. 🥺
He’s also @butts-dork ‘s oc but I love him like my own son lmao

“You can let go now.” And/or “We have nothing to speak about. There never was."
👀👀👀
oof I angsted REAL hard boys oof
under a cut for length and big endgame spoilers
—————
Flynn’s side is wet and warm. He can feel the blood seeping into the fabric of his shirt, the left side of his armor stained red. His feet fumble beneath him as he and Harding and Emmrich continue the climb to the throne room, to Elgar’nan, to the end. He pants, trying and failing to suck in enough breath with each step. He has enough in him to finish this. He knows that. But these fucking gods won’t be the only ones not leaving this place alive. But, fuck. He’s going to die in Tevinter. Of all places. Fuck.
“Flynn, we can take another breather, it’s alright.” Harding’s voice is quiet next to him, gentle but urging, her eyes pleading. She knows too…
Flynn starts to shake his head, but the movement makes his eyes spin and he stumbles into the crumbling wall beside him. Harding helps ease him down behind some shelter as she calls for Emmrich’s help. Flynn barely registers what’s going on around him, barely acknowledges the potion pressed to his lips until he’s nearly choking on it, groaning in pain as it pulls his side. “Fuck…” he wheezes.
“We’ll sit until it takes effect,” Emmrich says, laying calm but heavy hands on Flynn’s shoulders. “I’m afraid that’s all I have left…”
Flynn tries to catch his breath, to breathe through the waves of pain and nausea, a weak grip on one of Emmrich’s hands to keep him grounded. “It’s…fine…I’ll make it…”
Emmrich doesn’t need to reply. Flynn can feel his sorrow, see it etched in the lines of his face. Sure enough, as expected, the potion begins numbing what needs to be numbed and gives Flynn a little boost of energy—enough to get him on his feet again. He rejoins Harding and rests a bloody hand on her shoulder. “Solas can only go on so long…we gotta stop Elgar’nan…”
“Flynn…”
“Lace…ma’elgara, I know. We can’t stop, though.” Flynn can taste blood in the back of his throat. He doesn’t have time.
“I’m not ready…” Harding replies softly, but she looks ahead, leads the way through blight and debris to the throne room. To the end.
——————
Flynn barely has enough strength to smile in relief once the veil closes and Solas is gone for good, all strength leaving him now that the job is finally done. He turns with everyone else, facing the throne where blight falls away from Bellara, freeing her with a gasp of relief.
Their friends all start to move in her direction, and Flynn feels the world falling away from him, turning dark at the edges, colder now. He doesn’t even register that he’s on the ground until hands start slapping at his face, a voice urging him to stay awake.
“Flynn, no, no, please, please wake up…”
“Lace…” Flynn whispers, eyes fluttering open just enough to see her worried face above him. With a shaky hand, he reaches up to try to wipe the tears that fall down her freckled cheeks, accidentally smearing her face with blood. “I…I’m sorry…”
“Hey, I…I think I did okay…right?” Flynn can feel himself growing weaker and weaker, the light getting dimmer around them. He can vaguely hear other voices, but he doesn’t register what they’re saying. All that matters is Lace. His sun. His light.
“You were amazing…” Harding chuckles. “And you outlived the Dread Wolf.”
“It is something to be proud of…”
“Lucanis….” Flynn whispers in surprise, not having the energy to turn in the direction of his voice.
“You’re going to make me tell Viago about this, hm?”
Flynn can tell Lucanis is trying to hold it together, and he gives him a small, apologetic smile. “Tell him…I’m sorry—“ He’s interrupted by a coughing fit, weakly trying to catch his breath even as copper coats his lips. He’s out of time.
“Flynn…no, no, hey, it’s okay, just breathe…please, stay with me…” Harding’s voice catches, a sob choking her as she grips Flynn a little more tightly.
“L…Lace…tell…Eorthan—“
“I’m here, da’len.” Eorthan takes one of Flynn’s hands from Harding, holding it in his own. They’re so warm… “Elgara vallas, da’len…” Eorthan doesn’t sing, but the words are from the lullaby their mother used to sing. Sun sets, little one…
“Lethallin…” Flynn gasps, a chill running through him.
“Heofon….you can let go now. It’s alright.” Eorthan’s voice is quiet and calm, reassuring. “I will keep them. It’s alright…”
Flynn can tell his brother is trying to be strong, but he has no strength to argue with him. He’s slipping away so quickly now… “Lace…ar…ar lath, ma’elgara…”
Fenlin feels confident in his pace making his way through the trials of this prison of Solas’s making, confronting tough decisions and moving past his regrets. Saying goodbye to his friends is hard, but he knows what these specters are saying isn’t true…
“How dare you.”
That voice… Fen’s brow furrows in confusion as he turns his head in the direction is came from, trying to will the Fade to manifest the speaker. “Mamae?” It can’t be. She’s…she’s not dead. He just spoke with her.
“You left me, Fenlin. When our home needed you most, you left us all. Now your mothers and siblings have to fight this blight you spread. How dare you!” Harea’s anger shakes the stone of this prison and Fen’s eyes widen in fear that she may make the Fade itself come down on him.
“Mamae, no, I—“
“You abandoned us!” His mother’s angry, desperate voice causes Fenlin to stumble up the steps with a yelp of surprise.
“I did not!” Fen stands his ground, stubbornly pouting though his heart races in fear of arguing with the powerful force that is his mother. “I left to help. To save the world. My mother is the Inquisitor. She knows what she has to do, and she would never blame me for this! It took her so long, but she’s learned to let me go.” As Fen’s confidence grows, he begins climbing the steps again, ready to face the image of his mother. “She knows the part I have to play.”
Harea’s shorter figure stands surrounded by mostly faceless figures—except those of his other mother and younger siblings. “A Keeper’s job is to keep his family safe. All of them,” she says softly.
“And sometimes that means leaving them. Mamae, I promise you, I will come back home. Just like you will.” Fen always feels like the little boy he was when he ran away—when he got himself killed—whenever he faces his mother like this. As her visage fades away and a sense of peace washes over him, Fen braces himself for what this prison will throw at him next.

“Lairos?” Davrin’s voice is hoarse and gravelly as it calls to his sleeping lover next to him in bed.
“Mm?”
Davrin chuckles at how Lairos doesn’t even move in response, still asleep. He gently walks his fingers up his arm, enjoying the way the sun peeking through the wide gaps in his wall cast a glow in this little bed corner. It makes it look like Lairos’s skin glows too. “It’s morning,” he tries again.
“Mm.”
“I’m sure Lucanis has breakfast ready for everyone,” Davrin tempts, voice a little smoother now. “I know you love his breakfasts. Wouldn’t want to miss that, right?”
“Mmm…..” Lairos’s reply is more of a grumble this time, finally stirring awake.
“Aha. You and Assan are the same. Always thinking with your stomachs.” Davrin pokes Lairos’s side now that he’s sure he’s awake, poised to move if he—yes, when he flails out in surprise. He laughs and dodges the elbow expertly. “Come on, sleepyhead.”
“And waste this saccharine moment?” Lairos tries to put on an impressive pout and look innocent, but his sleepy rosy cheeks and messy bed head just make Davrin laugh.
“It’s way too early for big words, vhenan. Get up before Assan gets in here,” Davrin threatens playfully.
“It’s way too early to be awake…” Lairos grumbles, reaching out for Davrin’s hand to help him out of bed.
