Without thinking, Buck’s eyes find Eddie. He’s standing with Lucy and Karen near the barbeque, the three of them lost in some conversation that has their hands flying. He looks good, in a dark green henley and a pair of jeans that hug his thighs nicely, sleeves rolled off to show his forearms. Buck feels guilty so much as looking at Eddie these days, so he definitely doesn’t think about doing something like biting his arms. No, he thinks about—the lifespan of luna moths, or something.

Is it disrespectful to objectify your boyfriend if you don’t remember breaking up? Buck wonders. He’d ask Ravi, but even though the former-probie said they’re forever friends, Buck isn’t sure Ravi would want to hear about his desire to fit his teeth into the curve of Eddie’s shoulder.

here’s a love letter to let you know just how much your writing means to me, your fics have been a must read since I stumbled upon “Deep Tissue”, I think your works are a must read for anyone looking for Sam-centric fics. The way you write is incredible, every story draws you in and leaves you wanting more. I love the way you treat your characters and how much love you give to both parts of the ship.

“I’m observant, Buck,” Taylor says, and something beneath his skin crawls at the pitying tone in her voice. He never noticed it, when they were together, how she spoke to him like she felt sorry for him. Maybe he’d just gotten good at ignoring it.

Buck decides, as Taylor watches him over the table, that he likes it better when she’s cruel. At least he can stomach that version of her.

“I’m observant,” she says again, “and I know one thing for sure.”

“What?” Buck asks, voice a croak.

“Eddie isn’t over you,” says Taylor. Buck closes his eyes and breathes. “So just—hold on to that.”
