Story Time π On my last morning living in Red Earth City I rode down to the ashes of what was once the temple. An alien lady had gifted me a vile on my second morning for this exact reason but now it had a deeper meaning in my heart ππ« While the temple was burning my great grandmother had passed away. Her name was Rosetta Wilson, which my parents chose to use as my own. She had been wanting to move on for a long time but had been unable to let go. Did my presence and consciousness of the Burn help with this? πΆ I sifted through the ashes while the Rangers looked on and warned me about lead poisoning. The stained glass windows had smashed and melted into tiny pieces in the heart of the flame. I found a piece of purple glass which had melted into a thin string-like shape. I placed it in the vile along with a small amount of ash π₯ Death is inevitable for all of us, like the burning of the temple. At the beginning of the festival while walking through the sculptures and appreciating their beauty and craftsmanship you are aware that it won't be anything more than a pile of ashes when you leave. It burns bright and for about an hour people are transfixed by the beauty of destruction, then they warm themselves by the hot coals during the darkest parts of the night. Nana Rose burned longer than most, she was lucky. But death comes for all of us eventually and it can be something to celebrate. I hope I can take her name and burn as bright and for as long in this new age πΉπ₯πΆ #journal #death #grief #burn #burningseed #burningseed2017
