He noticed it, mainly due to him being bored and wondering the streets. It’s early, he mainly works nights. But sometimes-- sometimes people just can’t help themselves and he gets to make some extra money. Barry lightly nibbled at his lower lip, before he decided to follow the kid. Maybe offer him some help. Perhaps he shouldn’t get involved, it wasn’t any of his business. But despite what others might think, it goes against everything to just turn a blind eye to someone who needed help.
A brief stop in the store, buying something that would be more of meal than what was stolen and followed shortly after. His heels echoed down the alleyway, so he’s not surprised that he got noticed so quickly. There’s a small ache in his chest, seeing how the boy reacted and wanted nothing more to sooth his worry. The speedster offers him a reassuring smile, trying to show that he meant no trouble, and that he was certainly not after his food. Or that he was going to turn him in either. A small chuckle escaped him, “Hey-- it’s okay,” he tried, before crouching down to his level.
“I can’t exactly call the cops on you even if I wanted to, they’re not my biggest fans. Well, some of them are,” he winked playfully. Before he shrugged off his bag, producing a plastic one with microwaveable food inside and more fruit. “Here, I figured you might need something more filling, c’mon kid, this alley isn’t the best place to be.”

Kaylee doubts it would be admitted to anyone other than herself, but visiting the local bakery on the way home, daughter (Laurie) clinging to her hand in excitement at the prospect of a cookie, was one of her favourite parts of the day. One reason for that was seeing her daughter all excited. The other? Well, the guy who worked behind the counter. He looked so outta place in the bakery but that made it all the more entertainin’.
Bell jingles as they step inside and Laurie lets Kaylee go and rushes to the display case, blue eyes eagerly searchin’ for the triple chocolate cookies. Kaylee follows behind and offers a smile to the man behind the counter. “Afternoon, don’t s’pose you got any cookies left?”
