Year of the Dog - Burgos Pointer “The Burgos Pointer is an ancient breed dating back to the 16th century and originating in the Castilian plateau, which is very widespread. It is very probable that the breed participated in the creation of other races of this group.The breed is believed to have descended from a mix of the Sabueso Español and the Pachon Navarra (also known as the Perros de Punta Ibericos).
Pointing dog for fur and feather; much appreciated by the hunters who want a robust dog, resistant on any terrain and for any type of hunting, obedient, strong and above all endowed with a keen sense of smell. Its excellent skill and style of hunting results from its calm and firmness in tracking as well as from its impeccable pointing and retrieving. Although usually used on small game, it is not averse to the hunting of big game.”
