First things first (Iâm the realest), yâall have no idea how long I waited for this burger joint to open. I live in Greenville, and frequent the Taman Ratu area, so from the moment I noticed construction going on and the huge âBâ sign, I was like âYOOO A NEW RESTAURANT YASSSâ.
FUN FACT: I am actually still here, reviewing this place in real-time. HOW FUN.
So Burgerous. I asked the lady behind the counter what their best-seller burger was and she said âJucy Lucyâ so I was like âYO LOCK DOWN THAT JUCY LUCYâ. Truthfully, I said âoh yaudah mbak Jucy Lucy satu" but you know what I mean. I also ordered fries, which come with 6 different options for dipping sauces. I chose the pepper chipotle sauce.
The basic premise of the Jucy Lucy is heart-stopping: cheese is placed inside the raw patty, so when it's cooked, the cheese melts and pretty much gets everywhere when you take that first bite. It is, as promised, incredibly juicy, but all in all its flavour is kinda lacking in pizzazz, you know what I mean? I mean itâs already a good burger, but itâs a little too plain for my taste. And I think the cheese that was inside the patty wasn't evenly spread throughout the patty so I could taste the melted cheese in only one or two spots. Maybe a bit more seasoning? I could just use ketchup but I wanted this first experience to be all burger and no extras. I would, however, definitely order this again because it is quite good.
Damn son. Also I have old-people-hands, it seems.
Dalia suggested I order two burgers because they look small so halfway through my Jucy Lucy I decided to order the Spiced Fish Burger. Now that Iâm done with my Lucy, I kinda regret the decision because I am full. Online I read that most people had a problem with how small the burgers are, and I thought I would be the same, but here I am, completely satiated, considering that itâs now 4 in the afternoon and this is the first thing Iâve eaten all day. I do believe, however, that it is definitely too small for most people I know, but personally I am really, really full.
Dammit. My second burger has come and I donât know if I can even begin to eat it. But for journalistic integrity, onwards we go.
Whoa ok wow. This one is flavourful and spicy as hell. The fish patty (is it a patty if itâs fishâŚ?) is quite thick, too. I love this sauce yo. Itâs kinda like an oriental-y, sambal-y, sweet and sour kind of sauce. The only problem is I probably wonât be able to finish it. I think Iâll just take this one home and finish it there. But basically Iâm a fan of this one.
The fries are also good, and can totally work even without any dipping sauce.
I also ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri mocktail, because it also happens to be my favourite cocktail.
Iâm currently sitting in the outdoor area upstairs, and man the tables are filthy. Theyâre incredibly dusty from, no doubt, all the construction and traffic going on in Taman Ratu. So, Burgerous peeps, just a friendly reminder for yâall to regularly wipe the tables and chairs in your outdoor seating areas.
Anyhoo, Burgerous burgers are good, but you really canât beat the value-for-money aspect. That fish burger with the sauce Iâm so in love with? Rp. 35,000.00. No lie. And the Jucy Lucy, considering it has a really thick Australia-imported beef patty, is not so bad at Rp. 55,000.00. In conclusion, I am definitely going back to Burgerous and trying out the rest of their burgers. And Iâm intrigued by their breakfast menu as well.
