he’s moving to England to on go his dreams of being an artist. As we stood at the bar, he asked me how I felt of his decision, as if what cluttered my mind concerned him or would infect his decision. I felt significant. I told him, I’ll be sad he’ll be so far but that I was proud of him and that it’ll just be another travel stamp in my passport. That one day when people buy replicas of his paintings, I’ll be able to say I once loved the man who created that. It flattered him. He charmingly smiled and reassured me that he’ll take me in with open arms whenever I decided to go visit him. I just don’t want him holding on to me, that he shouldn’t take me in with open arms. It struck him like a two edge sword. I saw it in the way the curve of his smile became a frown. He didn’t think ahead of what I meant by that. He knew that I knew he wouldn’t wait for me in the end.
