[adult swim] JUST PULLED THIS OUT ON US LAST NIGHT
Honestly I couldnât get myself over it. I almost couldnât believe that this was real, even though it was cheaply made.
Just goes to show you that @adultswim actually has more respect for Cartoon Cartoons classics than Cartoon Network itself, although they apparently havenât the PPGs forgotten.
The character design looks somewhat more like cheyennecurtisartâs 2016-2019 models, but they probably didnât use the Powerpuff Yourself app... unless the girls behind Three Busy Debras did exactly that.
Of course, the intro was paying more homage visually to the 1998 The Powerpuff Girls intro. The opening portion of music and most sound effects used suggest that it was being mostly recreated (and cheaply so)... until they got the Universal/Hanna-Barbera shell explosions practically on cue... and then the real PPG theme (the one by James âDJ Avalancheâ L. Venable, Thomas Chase and Steve Rucker) kicks in.
The titular show appeared just like the original show referenced. They even did the [as] logo in the original PPG font!
@crackmccraigen would be so proud of adult swim right now...
