If I have to see one more fic that uses that bullshit Action/Order/Vision thing for Seekers, I swear to god I’ll explode. It’s so genuinely unnerving. (And the fics that popularized it aren’t even good. They’re plotless meandering cardboard-dialogued slogs.) I just don’t know why people are insistent that there has to be some kind of “heirarchy” or strict “roles” in a trine. Reeks of weird essentialism stuff. Not a fan.
It’s not even the concept of di(tri?)morphism that gets me! If you say to me in a fic “there are carrier frametypes and sire frametypes (or sparktypes) but these are completely distinct from mech/femme identities” I’ll accept that.
But the moment you start saying shit like “Visions are the Only Ones that can carry sparklings and it is their Job and Orders are the Leaders and they Tell the Vision when to have sparklings and the Action is Biologically and Psychologically Compelled to Defend the Nest” I’m immediately like “this is some Handmaid’s Tale shit, Margaret get me out of here—”
