Chuck hadnāt left his house ever since it .. all started. Once people started going insane, heād taken all the wood he could find and barricaded his windows from the inside, had shoved a drawer in front of the door, another against the back door and tugged all the curtains shut in hope of surviving like that.Ā
He had curled up on the couch the first night and barely ever left it since then. He didnāt eat much, didnāt even drink much; he just sat there watching the door, listening to the moaning outside and trying not to think about whatād happen if they found him inside of there.Ā
After a few weeks, heād moved upstairs, too scared to be so close to the door and actually hoping to be able to escape via an upper window if he had to. Heād curled up on the floor against his bed, a blanket wrapped around him and a few of the cans he had left stacked up next to him (Chuck had always lived on cans, so he had plenty stocked up in the basement by the time the virus spread out.)Ā
Some nights he dared putting a little candle into the window, hoping for someone to find him that way and maybe save him, but only on calm nights like this night.
