Polyvore
soooooooo.... I dont know if many of you know about this and if you do cool.
Polyvore, a website where many people would create and share ideas with others that related to their interests and creativity, has decided that it was time to derail itself. Happening on Thursday and ending by the end of said day with no notice to its users and followers makes me question...
why end something so quickly and quietly? the site was doing great and had a large user community. where is the reason to end so abruptly?Â
my reactions to finding out about this:
1. wanting to go onto said site and finding out it is no longer Polyvore. deciding that it was renamed and all i had to do was log back in.
2.finding out that said site no longer exists completely and have a brain attack (heart attack basically), decide to go to phone and check the app to find out it is not working as well
3. I then deicde to look up Polyvore on google to find out that Polyvore sold itself to a company that sells products that I could never afford.
4. go to different websites to discover the entire “polyfam” has gone into an uproar of the events that have occurred.
I may not have been on the site for a long time like everyone else, but I did spend my entire college career using Polyvore as a way to discover my own personal style. but after this whole fiasco I don’t know what I will do in my own “me time.” Polyvore was a place for many of us to go to to relax, express ourselves, and to meet with others that share the same interests.
my profile name was becka-ramey and you can find a few of my sets on pinterest through my profile there:Â https://www.pinterest.com/beckaramey/
I feel the Polyvore communities pain and anger
message me anytime to talk about polyvore and your interests
                     !!!!!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!!!!
I found a few sites that kind of work as alternatives to Polyvore. Chicvore is in Beta right now but you are able to aaply for an invite (http://www.chicvore.com/#)
the second site I found was URSTYLE (https://urstyle.com/). this site is able to import your polyvore sets that you are able to download from plyvore floowing these directions:Â http://blog.polyvore.com/Â this blog will tell you how to get your sets.
this site is seems like it is still new, but I have imported my own sets and they are all there, labeled and with their descriptions! I have to put the sets back into their proper collections, but an easy price to pay for a new polyvore alternative. I have not made new sets yet, but it is looking promising.Â
if you would like to see me and my old sets go here:Â https://urstyle.com/user/plum-peaches
