#bugs!?

A moth inflating its wings that I found. I thought this was rather interesting, and something I have never seen in person before. It was scuttling across the ground before I saw it. Didn't immediately recognise what it was, but after being placed on the plant, it started doing this. I'm not sure what kind of moth it is, though I'm sure someone can enlighten me.

My drawing of a solifugae, some of my favourite arachnids (admittedly there is not a huge range to choose from). These fellas have picked up a surprisingly large number of names.

Second arachnid post!?

The fearsome skeleton tarantula — this fine bloke is Ephebopus Murinus of the Theraphosidae genus. Named for their distinctive calcium-mimicking markings, these tarantulas are known for their terrestrial lifestyles, which are unique to the mostly tree-dwelling Aviculriinae.

I will be on the search for more radical arthropods like this one. In the meantime, your favourite major insect order?
