why do you ship bughead?
tricky question.
i could easily answer this and say “because they’re cute together” and be done with it but since i’m in my feelings i’ll explain why:
When you think of Jughead and Betty, you’d first think: total opposites. Jughead’s image is the boy from the south side of the tracks, and Betty is your girl next door.
But when you really look at the two, you realize that they aren’t so much different from one another at all. They are far from opposites. You realize that Jughead is kind. He’s sincere and he’s always listening. You realize that Jughead Jones isn’t as “bad” as he looks. You also realize that Betty, like everyone in this world, has this darkness to her. She isn’t picture perfect like everyone expects her to be. Betty Cooper has *Jughead’s voice* layers.
I think that both characters are continuously misunderstood. They both carry these burdens that were given to them by life. Images and expectations they feel like they have to live up to. They both are afraid to let people in, to let people see who they really are and who they can become. They’re even more afraid that people would never know their real selves. and tbh i relate to this so much.
Betty and Jughead are both perfectly and beautifully flawed.
Bughead’s relationship is layered. It’s beautifully complex. They are both what each other need because they understand each other so well.
And because they’re finally able to open up to each other, it strengthens them and their connection to one another. They see the beauty in each other, no matter how much darkness there is.
Their relationship allows them to grow as not only a couple, but as individual people. Their love allows them to be real.
I hope I answered your question looool
