Anyway my oc is more like those octopuses that uses shells or coconuts for protection. My oc is smaller and weaker and uses drone parts to protect themselves both from harm and from the cold. They also use the drone parts to mimic drones. I have an idea that they are like those spiders that look likes ants. But they need oil to live, like a termite having microbes to allow them to digest oil. If they use the parts to mimic drones maybe so they could get closer to fresh oil or to just try and fit in. But I see them more as a scavenger, eating older oil left in dead drones only hunting drones if they are starving. High risk high reward. The parts holding the drone parts together are weak and can be cut easily so they seek a more complete drone corpse. But I also think they can use the drone visor to see and talk, normally wouldn’t be able to talk without the head and if enough damage is to the head they won’t be able to do both. Another thing I like to think about is if they are boot looped it depends on how many parts they have, if the head is detached from the body then they would need to get a new head but the rest would be fine, if they head is connected to the body then boot looped the body could freeze up. But on their own the boot loop doesn’t affect them. They don’t need the head to see, they would just pop their eyes up out the neck hole but that would kill the mimicry. More facts I think about is the drone body’s led are red because of the fatal error and dead drones lights turning red. If they try and control a working drone they would be able to move the drone and the drone would just have to watch everything or fight for control, but I would think it’s rare because there would need to be a big enough cavity in their chest to make room for my oc. I joke that they could fall apart like one of those Lego gif.
