Remember this Spike/Buffy scene from BtVS “Empty Places”?
This is my headcanon for a post-episode CS scene.
I just think that there’d be no way he’d want to leave her side that night. He doesn’t want anything from her, he just wants to hold her and be able to constantly reassure both of them that she’s okay, that she’s out of danger (for now) and that she is once more safe, in his arms. He wants to treasure every second of holding her, sharing his body heat and watching every flutter of her eyelashes and every soft sigh that falls from her lips as she drifts off to sleep.
And I headcanon that Charming offers to let him stay with her at the loft that night, knowing full well that he’s going to be surgically attaching himself to her side regardless of whether they extend an invitation.
But David saw the desperation in him when she was trapped, the frantic fear of knowing she was in danger, the all-consuming love radiating from him when she emerged from the ice cave and flung herself into his waiting arms. He saw the way they clung to one another and the way Killian’s eyes never left her once she was back with them. And he gets it now. He no longer questions this man’s “intentions” because they have been made abundantly clear to him, both verbally and by his actions that evening.
So they all retire to bed and Killian knows he won’t be sleeping much. Keeping watch over her, savoring every second of her at peace in his arms, is far more important to him than sleep. And at first she doesn’t sleep. She simply gazes up at him, returning his unwavering, tender stare and finally feeling as though she is right where she belongs. Finally feeling safe and loved and home.
So they lay together, fully clothed with limbs all comfortably tangled, just soaking each other up. Sharing a *quiet moment*. Sharing everything. And finally knowing that they’re gonna be just fine, because they’re together.
