I MUST KNOW THESE GHOST STORIES! I love ghost stories. Sharing is caring :)
Oooh. Ok. Well I kind of don’t know where to start.
I live in San Antonio, so everything is haunted. The majority of my childhood homes were, and I’ve seen and heard and felt a bunch of stuff.
When I was about 9, my uncle passed away, and he’d been gone for a few months when I was getting ready one morning for school and I walked past the tv and saw him in the reflection of the screen, sitting behind me on the couch he always used to sit at. We’d also smell his cologne at weird times of the day, and it would be there for a few minutes, and then it was gone.
Um, later on, when I was a freshman in high school, we lived in a duplex, and lights would turn on and off, and doors would open and close by themselves. This red substance started to ooze from the ceiling at the entrance to my closet door, and all the rooms had these creepy bolt locks on the outside of the door, like they were meant to keep something in, instead of out. It was just weird. When my brothers and I tried to tell my mom, she told us we were crazy, and we started seeing shadows everywhere.
Then we moved from this place to an actual house and the red stuff started leaking from the ceiling in front of my window, so that was reassuring. :/ The house had been remodeled, so all the appliances were new, and the kitchen had been redone. They’d also converted the garage into an “office” and that’s honestly why I think we had so much trouble there. The attic entrance was in the garage, and we’d hear loud banging above us, but during the day. It sounded like someone was running around in socks. Whenever we took pictures there, there were a handful of orbs in each photo. I was in the bathroom one night when this transparent ball floated past my knees. I freaked out cause one, i was in the bathroom, and two, who actually sees orbs in the flesh? I never looked it up, but I’m sure it’s not a real thing. The house was always freezing, even during the summer. We moved all of the boxes we weren’t using into the garage, for storage, and all night long, we’d hear what sounded like someone was kicking around boxes full of silverware. Like, it was LOUD. And we’d open the door, and all the boxes were exactly as we left them. My mom said that she was right about to fall asleep one night when she felt breath on the back of her neck, and then her bed shook really violently. She believes in ghosts (now) but she was never scared until that night. She was literally in tears and didn’t want to go back into her room. She also saw a woman’s silhouette in the light from the windows within the garage, and our dogs were always barking from the door to the room, but they never went in, which was weird, cause they’d go everywhere else. One night I had my brothers sleeping in my room, and my light was acting up. It would just switch on and off and it was really pissing me off. We were just in the dark talking about whatever with me and my german shepherd on the bed, and the two of my bros on the floor, a few feet away. We decided to just go to sleep then, cause we didn’t want to mess with whatever was there. I was falling asleep when I felt something touch my face and like, pet my hair. I asked my brothers if it was them, but they were too far away, and nobody else was in the room. I think now, it was just my dad, who passed away when I was 7. Or, at least I hope it was him. I don’t want to know if it was a random stranger ghost. I couldn’t deal with that. I think that’s it for that house.
Two houses after this, we were in an old 5 bedroom house, and it felt normal enough in the beginning. I started to see shadows out of my peripheral vision down the hallway, but when I’d turn to look, nobody was ever there. It was always in the daytime. From 6:30am to about 10am. It was also during the summer, where my brothers would sleep till 2, so I knew they weren’t pranking me or anything. We put up a few video cameras while we slept, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, bc the activity just got worse. We’d only catch little orbs and stuff, which was most likely just dust, but we started hearing pots and pans clanking against each other in the kitchen. We’d see shadows from our rooms on the hallway ceiling, indicating that something was in the kitchen, passing by the stove, but no one was ever there. Then we started to smell this horrible dead animal smell, and it permeated throughout the entire house, but especially around the kitchen. We were hearing birds, fucking BIRDS, singing in the middle of the night, like 10pm-12am, and we had no idea where they were, bc there were no trees anywhere near our house, and we didn’t see them on the ground. That was weird. The smell would come back from time to time, and then we started seeing the flies. Huge ass horse flies. And they were disgusting. They seemed to be coming from my mom’s room. We’d try to kill them, but we’d see one on the wall for example, turn to pick up a newspaper or fly swatter, turn back, and i’m not even kidding there were at least three more beside the original. It was beyond creepy. My mom started drinking heavily, and she started to get weird. She was speaking in third person, and degrading herself, which she’d never done before. She was scary; she even spoke backwards. She was a lot more violent, and we were assuming that she was possessed. I know that sounds crazy. This all probably sounds crazy, but we had no other explanation for what was going on. We moved her out of her room and into mine, so she wouldn’t have to sleep in the fly room. I mean the flies were everywhere. There were so many. You could just open the door and hear this incessant buzzing. After a while, we found what seemed to be the source to how the flies got in, a small hole under her bathroom sink, and they didn’t come in anymore. It got a little better after that, but we didn’t want to stay there after that, so we left.
Now we’re in a little apartment, and things aren’t as bad. The first couple of months we’d hear the sink turn on, or the front door slam shut. Then my oldest younger brother said he saw a girl on the floor in his room, crawling up to his bed one night. He saw her two more times after that. Again, on the floor crawling, her legs bent into inhuman angles, and she scurried under the bed, and then while he was walking back to his room from the bathroom, and she was pulling herself up onto my other brothers bed until he saw her and she hid under his bed. We looked into the history of my apartments, and they’ve been here since the early 50s. We had a sort of seance, and figured that she was probably really young, and fell down the stairs, which would explain why her body looked so crumpled and why she was crawling. We tried to ask her name, but she wouldn’t answer, so we started calling names out, and I was like “Oh, well it can’t be Courtney,” cause that’s my name, and then our candles blew out. She was trying to be funny I guess. Since then though, she hasn’t really bothered us. We put up mirrors that face our doors, and that’s supposed to keep spirits from entering said room. We just told her we’d help her if she ever needed anything, and we meant her no harm. Every now and then we offer her stuff. My mom’s psychic friend tells us it keeps her happy, or whatever.
But yeah. Those are pretty much all my ghost stories that I’ve witnessed myself. I think the reason we have so many encounters with them is because we can all sense them. My brother sees them, my mom sees them, and I feel them, physically and mentally. It’s hard to explain. It’s just a sense I get. But yeah, I’m not crazy, and I didn’t make any of this up.
Ask me more about ghosts? here. :)
