hii dev!! first of all i needed to say that everytime i see your icon of eddie with his little kippah on my dash it makes my day 🫶
anyways, for the ask anything (keeping it on the jewish theme of the ask lol) i was wondering what's your favorite holiday and why!!! personally mine is Shavuot cause it's usually around my birthday and i get to eat lots of dairy dishes (i am also lactose intolerant but that's not gonna stop me)
also if eddie was jewish, what would be his favorite holiday do you think 🤔🤔🤔
ok hope you have a lovely day 🫶
I’m so glad!! I think this icon’s here to stay. It makes me happy too hehe
Oooooof that’s honestly a difficult question! I love the different holidays for different reasons, and I think I’m struggling to narrow it down between rosh hashanah (I know that’s a boring answer but that holiday scares me, and I respect that), purim, or lag b’omer.
I love Rosh Hashanah because we need to really pause and reevaluate how we’ve been throughout the year, as well as give ourselves the ability to let go what we need to in order to step into the new year. The symbolism of the seder (I’m sephardic, so we do a seder) is something that really moves me as well, and the yamim ha’nora’im afterwards is when I ask everyone for forgiveness, and I think we could all use that practice in humility.
Purim and Esther’s story is something that gives me goosebumps every time, and I love that Adar is a month we’re meant to fully embrace joy and see the quieter miracles. Another thing that really sticks with me when I think about that holiday is that Hashem isn’t mentioned once in the Megillah, but nothing short of a miracle still occurred. For events to happen in that particular order and in that particular way, such that we were saved from genocide? It’s amazing. And I think that’s how we need to see the good that happens to us as a chain of serendipity (with Hashem quietly in the background).
For lag b’omer: it’s just fun 😂 who doesn’t love a bonfire and dancing?
Also I love that yours is Shavuot despite the lactose intolerance LOL. And happy early birthday!! Is it exactly on the hag this year?
Hmmm…. I think maybe purim? He seemed to really enjoy dressing up for Halloween lol, and I think he’d have fun with the mishloach manot! But also he likes decorating 🤔 so maybe a more “involved” holiday like sukkot?
