drew was holding her infant daughter with one hand, walking around the supermarket and looking for diapers. she was probably looking as helpless as she felt, when the little baby started crying. “ fuck. c’mon kaia don’t cry, you’re a good girl, right ? ” she muttered. she looked around, not seeing any diapers, walking quickly and still searching, not wanting to attract anyone’s attention. drew had been keeping her daughter a secret ever since the baby’s mother left her with her. she didn’t want people to know, especially after her parents turned their backs on her, never having the best relationship with them. she’d been raising the baby on her own, still trying to pass her tests and come to school, leaving the baby with a babysitter whenever she could afford it. she didn’t know how to raise a kid, and she didn’t even know if she was doing a good job, but she tried her best. “ excuse me, do you know where i can find diapers, maybe ? ” she asked the first person she saw, over the sounds of the baby crying.

the manicured backyard of the prestigious MONTEGOMERY residence was filled with a plentiful of socialites, rich and boring. montonous conversations filled the air of latest investments and scandals of the upper-class society. as per usual, tobias found himself shadowing that of his parents as they brag about his brought success at columbia university & the plans to take over his family business –– and as always, his opinion didn’t actually contribute towards anything, and the praise he received was merely routine. it was only that of his friends, those who shared the same luxurious lifestyle, that tobias was able to confine in ( though, the only confining they actually did was in the bottom of armand de brignac ). his eyes catch onto athena, a godsend at this point, knowing she would happily save him from the depths of social boredom. tobias politely excuses himself, since his mama did raise a gentlemen, a manevurs his way through the crowd, b-lines to the bar, and then over to the young girl. “ i think we have obligations we have to attend to tonight, ” he’s only briefly displaying the bottle of champagne he has snagged from the bar, a gentle smirk flashing towards her. “ please get me drunk. the winstons are trying to seduce my parents into a marriage arrangement with me and their daughter. i don’t think i can stand the thought of bewedding margot and her horrid horseteeth. ”
