So I’ve sat on these for months and months and… almost a year actually—so long that a whole chapter slid in and the contents of chapter 19 became 20 and then chapter 20 got rewritten almost from the ground up.

But enjoy a little peak at what would have been in 20, some crumbs for the future, and a tiny look at what Sam (y/n’s older brother) looked like.

Here’s a little sketch/preview of Sun from another fic I’m working on: the beloved gold prospector au (au name subject to change, I don’t have a title for this fic yet lol).

I’ve been churning this au in my head ever since chapter 15-ish of LRA. Way back when, I had this idea for an animatronic named Jake the Scrapper—a four-armed, poker-playing, ramshackle mining bot who’d escaped the junk heap and made his living doing odd jobs. He came into LRA because he would rescue other bots, particularly from the nearby ore and molybdenum mines in the Rockies, bringing them to Gregory for repairs, and, in return, those bots would owe him favors. Plus, he’d get a new card buddy. Unfortunately, the scenes with Jake the Scrapper got, well, scrapped.

But the au idea lived on. It’s now a fully formed story taking place in the mid 1800’s-ish, mostly in Colorado, with our dear Sun, Moon, and main character by the name of Miriam (name also subject to change Lolol). There will be gunslinging and cowboy hats. There will be treasure hunting and folk magic. And perhaps there’ll be some unexpected guests along the way.
