What are your thoughts on Schweinski? Y'know, I didn't even know about Maya's birth! I found out the other day after Germany kicked our sorry Italian asses (I'm glad, we're "Italians" only when the nt plays, and what happens when the nt goes home? Always the same old tune, the whole North-South thing, giving each other shit). I know Basti's still with Ana, but they give me a weird vibe, some things are just suspicious… Sorry for bothering you by the way! :))
Sorry it took forever to reply to this. I was trying to find this post I created a long, long, /long/ time ago that basically sums up how I feel/felt about schweinski. I wrote a lot of stupidly long things about them actually... wow, I had a lot more time then. Anything else about how I currently feel about the situation is under the cut, but you are definitely not bothering me in any way! I love answering questions about schweinski. I love schweinski. It is the best. It is the master ship. It makes me feel feels.
That being said, their ‘relationship’ isn’t always sunshine and selfies (to the public), which I get. They are two very real people with their own lives, careers, and responsibilities. At times, they’re just at different points because they’re different people. I just hate how whenever they’re comfortable enough to be cute and friendly in front of the cameras, there’s subsequent fear of backlash, which applies to a lot of male friendships, honestly. So, they become somewhat distant (again, to the public anyway), which is entirely unfair and unnecessary (but it kind of is necessary despite all the touting of tolerance in the sport). That’s how I interpret it anyway.
But, honestly, everything I say could mean nothing and is purely conjecture since we don’t really see anything they don’t want us to see (for the most part), in that they’re pretty good at hiding their personal lives. Like, I didn’t know Monika was pregnant either until Lukas let us know.
The entire current girlfriend thing with Basti gives me weird feelings because of how it started, but... I’m not going to get into that one again :P Not right now anyway. And, I honestly haven’t been keeping up with Basti’s personal life as a result. But, agreed. Some things are suspicious.
Currently, my mood is: Basti & Poldi are most likely so damn aware of each other (and the schweinski ship) that it kind of explains a lot about how they interact (and try to maybe behave but not quite able to reel it all in). But then, the DFB goes and posts about them for international kissing day, and Poldi does the same thing, like it’s just all one big joke. And I’m just like. They’re just fucking with me right now, aren’t they.
