interesting how eleanor seems to have convinced silver she has the kind of power he needs & is willing to make deals with her

flint is not a very tall man. he looks kinda tiny standing next to billy (i just googled toby stephens' height and i am literally taller than him)

the scene at the beginning with flint and billy is kinda great. flint comes at him like "you don't trust me. explain yourself" and billy blurts out a bunch of stuff and says the crew is sacrificing itself not knowing it's all a lie and THE WAY flint says "a Lie? :)" and all the other great stuff. the way flint explains the doubts he feels every moment but having to put those aside in order to give clear commands. "so we dance the dance". and the WINK. he's like a little shit in this scene and he doesn't get to be a little shit very often (usually he's just a dick)

i loved the boarding of andromache the first time around and it was awesome now as well. sick sick sick sick

ok i laughed when flint's face was, once again, splattered with blood by the end of the episode

this is technically not a liveblog or anything since i watched the episode yesterday. but i was cut off before i managed to type anything

yyyyyyeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh that sex scene. i gotta say i love it. it's so weird and awful and sad and twisted and like i read on both their faces that they're thinking about thomas. they're. like. almost like disassociating. and when you add in the scene that follows where miranda cries how this life doesn't feel like living anymore. and it's so painfully obvious how this life is not at all satisfying and how they're hardly there for one another (or well tbh james isn't there for miranda) i keep wondering if it's been like this for all these years they've lived on the island and their lives have stagnated, or if this is the point where their lives have progressed. i'm leaning towards the stagnation theory, that james has kept his mind on achieving the Goal in nassau ever since they left london, and he's left miranda to her own devices. and the only way miranda has been able to take some kind of action of her own is by utilizing james' grief and rage.

of course during this scene james is angry about the book on top of it all but let's be real this is not the first or only time he gets upset at miranda because of thomas.

yeah just that whole sequence in the morning is. important. how many times has james promised miranda it will get better? haha
