Initially it was the restless shifting of the dogs that woke Abel up from his half-drunk doze on the couch.... then it was the distinct preternatural sense of not being alone. Bleary eyes half opened as he stared at the ceiling of his den before sitting up ram-rod straight as the pup at his feet whined toward the door. "What the f.. who-" Abel snarled, pushing to a stand as he reached for his gun on the table. The wolf only stopped once his brain finally woke up enough to recognize the scent. Still half-asleep, Abel gave a low growl and lumbered barefoot and shirtless to the front door, opening it and pushing the screen to creak open.
"Got any idea what time it is, pup?" he growled toward the figure on his porch, aware it was Bryce before he set eyes on him.
