So, I’m looking at my Wyldfyr pictures, and I can’t help but notice that they always have their claws tucked in at the front of their chest. Like, this:

That’s how Wyldfyr holds their claws almost constantly—even when running!

During running makes sense, because keeping the paws close to the chest like that would limit drag, thus increasing speed. But still...at all times? Wouldn’t that get tiring?

Now, honestly, this could easily just be how they animated Wyldfyr in a simple and easy manner, and have absolutely no in-world reasoning at all. =P But I just thought it a fascinating detail, like one of those things you never think about until you see it and then it’s all you can think about. X3 Wyldfyr’s arms sometimes move in other positions, but like, 90% of the time they’re tucked in.

If there was an in-world explanation (doubtful, probably just how they animated them) , I would imagine it would have to do with dragons being trained/bred to behave docile. The whole reason that Bull-Class dragons have bony nubs on their shoulders is because the horns are filed down to avoid the horns potentially damaging someone/something. Brutaris is unique because he has no nubs, or else we’d see them peeking out from underneath the shields he wears.

That could be a sign of selective breeding to weed out the genetics that lead to the horns. A hornless Bull could easily result from a mutation, which a person could breed with another Bull that has the same mutation. Then just keep the breeding within those hornless mutations, and viola, you’ve got a whole subset of Bulls with no horns. Which is fascinating, since Brutaris is canonically one of the best specimens of Green Bull-Class dragon, hence his kidnapping and use by Word for the Chromatic Project.

But beyond geneticism, behaviors can be induced to control dragons as well; such as keeping your head forward, don’t look around, hold still, don’t move unless moved to, if you’re bipedal keep your paws to yourself, if you’re quadrupedal don’t let your paws go past your shoulders when standing still.

I don’t know how many of these are legitimately in the show beyond the bipeds keeping their paws to themselves and Bull-Class mutation resulting in missing horns. But they all have high potential to be legit, given that the environment of the city is meant to be conducive to a dragon-human war. The whole premise revolves around the chance of one starting growing to a boiling point, and with people like Word trying to heat things up and make it reach a boil faster.

*pauses, frowns, looks up*

...well gosh drak it, lol. It happened again, didn’t it? I was just observing one small detail, and I even said at the beginning something along the lines of “This could be nothing”. But did I leave it at that? Noooo, of course not, I just had to have thoughts, lol.
