          𝐋𝐔𝐆𝐆𝐀𝐆𝐄   𝐅𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐒   𝐀𝐓   his   feet,   but   the   incident   leaves   his   slumber   unscathed   as   porter’s   shoulder   becomes   his   brand   new   pillow.   the   plane   had   been   delayed   four   different   times   already   and   the   announcement   that   finally   wakes   him   seems   to   present   the   fact   that   there   won’t   be   another   flight   until   morning.   the   blizzard   outside   only   heightens   the   amount   of   grogginess   that   follows   bright   lights   shining   in   his   eyes.   being   at   the   airport   for   twelve   hours   and   counting   could   really   take   a   toll   on   someone   who   never   slept   in   the   first   place.     ❛     i’m   sorry.     ❜     the   apology   is   close   to   a   murmur   as   the   male   sits   up.   throat   is   cleared   quietly   to   avoid   any   cracks.     ❛     did   they   say   the   plane’s   not   leaving   until   tomorrow?     ❜     he’s   got   a   kid   at   home.   she’s   waiting   for   him   to   walk   in   with   a   bag   of   presents   to   stick   under   the   tree.   he   can’t   wait   a   day.          /          @brutallysofts​.

                   THEY’D  BEEN  DOWN  THIS  ROAD  TOO  MANY  TIMES  BEFORE  ;  slipping  on  his  shirt  ,  he  glances  at  his  phone  .  “  shit  --  harper’s  been  calling  .  ”

                   SHE’D  ONLY  GIVEN  IN  BECAUSE  SHE  WAS  LONELY  .  “  this  ..  this was a mistake  .  ”

 it’s  like  they’re  in  her  veins.  permanently  imprinted  on  her  skin,  and  it’s  becoming  painfully  obvious  that  they  won’t  wash  away  as  she  finds  herself  at  their  front  steps,  tail  between  her  legs  after  yet  another  night  out  gone  to  shit.  she’s  officially  hitting  a  new  low,  her  pride  having  taken  several  blows  as  of  lately,  following  a  string  of  drunken  texts  and  late  night  phone  calls.  it’s  pathetic,  really  —  having  morphed  into  a  shell  of  who  she  used  to  be.  somehow  they’ve  managed  to  get  under  her  skin,  prompting  her  to  slowly  let  her  guard  down,  becoming  her  pressure  point.  once  the  very  epitome  of  a  stone  cold  bitch,  edges  have  softened  under  their  touch.  she’s  furious  at  them  for  making  her  weak,  needy,  but  more  so  at  herself  for  letting  them.  though  hesitant  at  first,  she  reaches  to  knock  at  the  door  before  quickly  crossing  her  arms  over  her  chest  as  she  waits.  teeth  dig  into  her  lower  lip,  fingers  nervously  fidgeting  with  the  hem  of  her  hoodie  as  she  impatiently  shifts  her  weight  from  one  foot  to  the  other  repeatedly.    /    @brutallysofts​. 

           the  young  man  is  bored  out  of  his  mind.  it  had  been  a  much  dreaded  evening  at  his  father’s  mansion  as  people  were  attending  the  annual  charity  party,  opening  the  gates  for  business  associates,  journalists  and  photographers.  he’s  shook  hands  and  laughed  his  way  through  the  crowd  to  make  sure  his  name  stays  on  people’s  lips  throughout  the  night  —  just  like  his  father  had  asked,  but  there’s  only  so  much  bland  small  talk  and  fake  smiles  you  can  undergo  before  boredom  kicks  in,  and  after  playing  the  pawn  in  his  own  father’s  game  for  a  whole  two  hours  he  finds  himself  fleeing  the  scene,  though  not  before  sweet  talking  a  bottle  of  whiskey  from  the  bartender  on  clock.  he  makes  time  pass  by  roaming  the  dark  hallways  and  making  himself  familiar  with  the  house  all  over  again,  smoking  a  blunt  in  one  of  the  bathrooms  and  sipping  from  his  drink  in  hand,  which  he’s  halfway  through  as  an  unfamiliar  figure  in  his  dad’s  home  office  piques  his  interest,  making  him  stop  dead  in  his  tracks  at  the  sight.  without  much  sound  he  slouches  himself  in  the  doorway,  an  amused  look  growing  on  his  features  as  he  glances  the  woman  up  and  down,  shamelessly  eyeing  her  before  finally  clearing  his  throat.  « you’re  not  really  supposed  to  be  in  here,  you  know.  the  second  floor  is  strictly  off  limits  to  guests, »  he  explains,  corners  of  his  mouth  twitching  into  a  sly  smile,  still  oblivious  to  their  relation.    /    @brutallysofts​.
