christmas extravaganza: brutaldylan snowed in the car
ahhh sorry it took so long ;w; i havent been at my actual computer for a bit and ive been out of the house so often this past week, geez! the rest of these are definitely coming!!! sorry for the wait guys ;w; <3 hope you like it dylan!!
âUgh,looks like weâre going to be stuck out here for a while.â
Ianpressed his forehead to the cold glass of the car window and cuppedhis hands around his eyes to try and see anything in the blizzardoutside.
Hesighed. Nothing.
Therewas no way they could drive in this weather, Ian mused as he poppedin a quiet jazz CD and turned the heater onto low. Looks like theyhad to wait it out.
Himand Dylan had just gotten gas and had been on their way to Ianâsplace for what was sure to be a joyous holiday eve dinner with themooseâs family, when this storm had surrounded them.
Ianrubbed his temples, leaning back into the driverâs seat. Hearingthe old thing creak like it always did was somewhat comforting and hedug his nails into its slightly scratchy surface to ground himself.
Itwasnât too bad out here, and they had snacks, music, and heat forthe trip.
Evenmore than that, they had each other.
Ianopened an eye to see a shivering lump of blankets next to him.âYouâre that cold?â
Dylanpoked his head out of his fortress for a moment to give Ian a weirdlook. âWhat, you arenât?â
âIâmimpervious to temperature, itâs one of my best qualities.â Ianturned to look out the window once more, tapping the steering wheel.âOne of the only good ones I have anyââ
Ianpaused as a soft projectile struck the side of his head, jinglingnoises ringing through the small space of the car as it tumbled intohis lap.
Helooked down and saw a small lamb plush staring up at him with thecutest expression. He picked it up gently and waved it towards hisboyfriend. âWhy did you throw our son at me?â
Dylanhad sunk back into his blanket swamp, with only the top part of hishair sticking out. His response was more than a little muffled.
âIdonât like it when you talk about yourself like that...Plus Jeffyâsgood at cheering people up.â
Ianbounced Jeffery on his knee at random intervals so the cheerfultinkling of the bell could be heard. âCan you guess what song thisis?â he said, trying to change the subject.
Dylanrested his head on one of the blankets, tilting it and biting hislip. âJingle Bells?â he guessed as he began to hum. He twirledone of the loose threads absentmindedly.
Iansmiled. âItâs Last Christmas, actually.â He set Jeff on Dylanâshead, the stuffed animalâs feet crinkling as Dylan moved to grabhim. âLast Christmas, I gave you my heart...â
Usingthis as a distraction, he turned up the jazz a bit with one hand anddove into the backseat with a grunt. He grabbed one of Dylanâsblankets and tugged it over himself, smirking at Dylanâs indignantsqueal.
âIthought you were impervious to temperature!â
Ianmoved over to create more space next to him, patting it with hishand. âThat doesnât mean Iâm impervious to cuddles. Get overhere.â
Dylanpouted and threw the blankets over the smirking teen. Ian could be sosneaky sometimes.
Hecrawled through the space between the two front seats with one arm,the other one holding Jeffy tightly to his chest. Pulling himself upnext to Ian, Dylan cuddled up next to him as Ian adjusted the mess ofblankets.
Theylay together for quite awhile, soft, slow jazz whispering through thecar, providing a calming and romantic atmosphere.
Iancaptured Dylanâs fingers with his own, Jeffy sitting comfortablybetween them. Looking at the carâs clock, he noticed it had justturned midnight.
âHeyDylanââ Ian shuffled to look at his boyfriend, who he realizedwas snoring softly. Ian smiled and kissed his forehead.
âMerryChristmas.â
my bois need a comfort
âIan, you didnât have to do this.â
âHonestly, how many times do I have to say I want to do thisbefore you believe me?â
âA lot.â
Ian smile gently as Dylan hid his face away in response, turninghis face to bury it into Ianâs shoulder. âOkay, well, Iâm gonna do it. A lot.â
âWell you just didnât seem to be in a Christmas mood?â Dylanpeeked up at him. âI just donât want to make you do what you donât wanna do.âHe peeked around. âYou really decked out your room, just because I saidsomething, but you werenât going to do it before, were you?â
âDecked the halls, I guess you could say.â
Dylan covered his mouth, gently butting his head into Ianâsshoulder as punishment for the pun. The room was dark except the soft red and orangeglow of the âvirtualâ fireplace video on Tubeyou, and the tiny, still quitestolen Christmas tree on the desk.
âOkay, Okay, Iâm not the most Christmas-y person, but hey, Iâmnot the Grinch or anything, I donât hate it.â Ian shrugged his shoulder gently, mindful of the other leaning on him. âI just donât get it into it as much.Doesnât mean I canât, it just means I didnât have a reason before. I mean, myfamily wasnât as much into it, but they enjoyed themselves, and I was fine withthat.â
Dylan shrugged his own shoulders, pulling up the blanketaround them both again as they adjusted to each other on the couch. âI didnâtknow that.â
âWell, it didnât really come up in conversation.â Ianchuckled a bit. âBut itâs not really a thing. I really donât want you to worryabout it.â
âYou know me, the most worried. Iâm a professional.â
âOkay well, Mister Worrier, take a day off, its Christmas.â
Dylan huffed, smiling in spite of himself. âSo youâreâŚreally willing to do all this stuff. And put up with dumb weird Christmas commercialsand try 80 different kinds of peppermint and drink eggnog, and you wanna do itâŚbecause Iâm a sap for stuff like that?â
âHmmm⌠Yea, just about.â
âI donât get you.â
âUh, itâs call loving you, better look it up sometime.â Ianturned his head towards Dylan. âIf you can love someone like me, I candefinitely love you, no problem.â
âYou say that like youâre a problem.â But Dylan was smilingstill.
âIâm a big damn problem and Iâm proud of it.â Ian tsked. âButI mean it. Christmas, the holidays, the decorations, I can enjoy them, but theyâreimportant to me as they are as they are to you.â
âJust⌠donât overdo it for me.â Dylan said carefully. âLike,I super appreciate it, just donât do what you donât want to.â
âMe?? Overdo something?â Ian tilted his head a little.
âI said a tree was cute and you stole it.â Dylan gestured totheir baby tree.
âHolly Jolly Criminals, you said it, not me.â
âNuh uh!â Dylan said, defiantly. âDonât change the subject!â
Ian tilted his head down and met Dylan for a kiss. âIâmchanging the subject. The videoâs done.â
Dylan looked up- the TubeYou video had autoplayed into thenext video- a picture of a puppy and a kitten sleeping by a fireplace. With audiblegasp, Dylan whispered âOkay I know what Iwant for Christmas.â
âDylan--- no-â
headcanon that Dylan always falls asleep tangled in his headphones so when he falls asleep Ian takes them out for him -- headcanon that Ian tells Dylan he shouldnt fall asleep with headphones in so Dylan just falls asleep listening to Ian's heartbeat instead -- headcanon that im crying i love my bois
hhh thatâs so cute what the h eC K
do you have any headcanons for my bois ;000
Some Holly Jolly headcanons, ey?? Well I can try my be s t
-Ian met Dylan by tutoring the first year in math, and veryearly on in Dylanâs transition.
-Dylan finally confronted Ian about it, because he knew thewhole transision thing had been throwing off a lot of people, and Ian took itâŚweirdly fine.
- âIâm a boy, Iâm maleâ â⌠Ok. Well, that doesnât changethis test you gotta study for, and that definitely doesnât get you out of doinghomework.â
- Dylan hears people talk badly of hidden block all the time(just about them being weird) but hes just like????? âdo we know the samepeople???â
- Dylan met most of hidden block because they showed up atIanâs dorm wondering why he wasnât at the meeting, even though Ian told theseidiots not to show up
- Dylan was v nervous, because like, this was all of Iansfriends. Like, people he had been friends with, way longer than Dylan. Thisprobably wouldnât go well. Oh nooooooooooooooo-
-But they were all dorks and everything was fine, honestly.Luke was nice, Jimmy was sassy, Wallid was funny, and Caddy was⌠loud, but Dylan ended up having a lot offun meeting them. It kind of felt like heâd become everybodyâs little brother(although he was in the same year as a couple of them)
-Dylan spends more time in Ianâs dorm, even if he isnâtthere. He used to wait outside of Ianâs dorm for him to get back, but Ian knowssome boys in the dorms are jerks so he gives Dylan his key to his room so hecould come over whenever he wanted.
-Dylan sneaks over after curfew shhhh. I told you he spendsas much time there as possible. Heâs most comfortable when hes laying down, looking out into Ianâs dark dorm room, and Ianâs long arm is draped over him.Heâll fall asleep in .02 seconds.
-Dylan almost never gets bed hair Ian wants to know hissecrets and techniques.
-Ian canât sleep on his back because he SN OR ES
-One time Dylan went to take out his homework and accidentlyended up with Ianâs more advanced, third year homework and freaked out s O M UCH because he didnât recognize anything and couldlnt remember what they learnedin class so Ian gave him a day off from math tutoring and took him for icecream instead.
-Dylan has never seen Ian cry and hes not sure thatâs a goodthing or a bad thing????
-Ian tries to eat everything with a spoon at least once andDylan doesnât say anything but he stares and wonders about his boyfriendsometime I s2g

âYou donât know anything about her/him!â my bois :')
Now, Dylan didnât have a lot of friends, so to say, but hehad some⌠pretty okay people he sat down to munch and lunch with almost everyday. Honestly, sometimes he was fine off sitting by himself, but he more hatedthe idea of other people seeing him sit by himself. This brought him to the oddthought however, once he realized Ian was eating by himself almost every timehe saw him.
Ian was part of the hidden block group, and while Dylan knewall 6 of them couldnât have had different lunches, he noted that almost everytime Ian sat for lunch, it was by himself. Whos to say, maybe Ian liked eatingby himself?? Who knew. (but what was that about eating with the spoon?? What thehell was that about, what was the reasoning behind that???)
Oh, well⌠he kind of knew Ian- Ian was a third year who washelping him with some mathwork, and he was kind of a nice guy, so maybe⌠maybe Dylanshould-
âTake a picture, itâll last longer.â
He almost knocked his whole tray into his lap, barelycatching it as he sat up, and his so called friends laughed. His face reddened, and he looked down to make sure his drink hadnât spilled on him.
âWhat you looking at Brutalmoose for? You know hes like, theweirdo of the school, right?â
Dylan grimaced- he suddenly seemed to re-understand the wantingto eat alone. Being with certain people were exhausting. âIanâs not so badâŚâ
âHuh??â Several eyes turned on Dylan and honestly he wantedto shrivel up and disappear. âYou donât know anything about him!â
âSure I do?â Dylanâs face returned somewhat to a passivestate, and he glanced down at the tray, suddenly more embarrassed. Was⌠stuffIan shared with him not common knowledge?? âI know his favorite lunch spotâŚwhere he likes to nap?â he stirred his food now- he was just focused on that. âHisfavorite school subjectâyou know, normal junk.â
âGosh.â The attention on him faded as he promptly shut upwhen prompted with more questions. Only a few lingering eyes waited for him toopen up again. âWhy donât you date the guy, you talk about it like you alreadydo.â
Oh, he could feel his face heat up and steam blow out hisears. Him?? Date Ian??? Ian?????? Willingly dating him? Wow⌠wow holy shit thatsounded nice, that sounded super nice.
âHey.â
Dylan lifted his head- and the whole table turned to stareas the moose himself stopped by on the way to toss the rest of his food. âDylan,we good for later? I got a meeting with the guys but theyâre not starting until5. Whats a good time for you before that?â
âUhmâŚâ Dylan fiddled. â3 is fine. Ian.â He cleared histhroat. He side-eyed the rest of the tableâfor a bunch of someones calling himweird, they sure seemed invested in his next words and movements.
âCool then, see you then.â Ian took a blank glance aroundthe table, then scoffed. âYou should really sit at another table I donât thinkthese people suit you that much.â But he shrugged, giving Dylan the lightestsmile before moving on his way to the tray return.
The whole fucking table was in silence, and Dylan could hearhis heart pounding. He definitely didnât want to wait around for the aftermath.âW-wait up!â He got from his feet, stumbled, tripped on his backpack, stumblingagain, but eventually completely gained his balance, and snatching the schoolbag from the floor, jogged up to meet with Ian, who graciously waited for himby the trashcans.
Maybe he could kind of see himself dating Ian after allâŚ.
âYou can hold onto me if youâre scared, you know?â let these boys be happy
âYou can hold onto me if youâre scared, you know?â
Dylan checked Ianâs face every few seconds as they waited, just to if heâd get just an ounce- justa smidge of emotion out of him, out of what was coming, out of what was soon tobe.
Nothing. Ian couldbe a brick wall at times, and he could be a damn good one.
At one point, Dylan glanced up at the tall boy, and Ian wasglancing back at him. Turning his head away like a lovestruck fool, he coveredhis mouth, and hoped by some miracle that somehow, Ian hadnât seen him looking. He was pretty sure they had looked directly at each other though. Maybe??Maybe????
âWhat?â Ian laughed a bit. âWas there something on my face?Youâve been giving me the side eye since we got here.â
âNo I havenât.â Dylan lied for like, absolutely no reason atall. His face was hot from embarrassment now. Clearly, he was overthinkingeverything, but if he couldnât stop his brain from doing a million otherthings, he definitely couldnât stop his brain from overthinking.
âAlright, if you say so, but if we get down from here and Igot a big spinach leaf stuck between my teeth or something, the blames on you.â
âUhm, no the heck it woudnât be.â Dylan looked back at him, smiling just a bit.
âWeâll see weâll see.â Ian looked around, and quick as hissmile had come, it was gone, the people in front of them drawing his ire. âComeon, I could grow my own spinach in the time it takes us to get up here.â
âWell, we wouldnât starve to death, thatâs good, right?âDylan asked. He peeked up at Ian again, and watched him struggle to keep hissour mood with the joke heâd been presented. âHey, if we donât share thespinach, the line will get shorter for sure.â
âI donât plan on waiting that long, definitely. They cangrow their own spinach, Iâd leave. I definitely donât want this that badly.â
âUhhhâŚâ Dylan fiddled a bit. âMaybe we donât have to wait!Maybe we can, uh⌠just leave.â
That definitely got a raised eyebrow out of Ian. âYou donâtwant to??? I thoughtââ
âUhhhhhhhhâŚâ The line was moving oh n o o h n o. He clungtightly onto Ian as they moved closer.
âDylanâŚ?â Ian said, a warning in his voice. âAre youâŚafraid??â
âNo?!â Dylan blurted. Definitely, high key, sort of fearingfor his life.
Ian chuckled âWell, I mean, You could always hold onto me ifyouâre scared. Kinda like now.â
âI am not!!â Dylan clutched tighter, definitely proving hiscase.
âIâm kidding.â They were right before the entrance, theattendant holding the gate open. Looks like they were just enough seats toinvolve them this time around. âYou donât have to do this if you donât want to,you know that, right? Iâd never make you do this, Iâm not a jerk.â Ian grinnedat him, ruffling Dylanâs hair.
The youngest boy pouted. âBut I said Iâd do this one foryou, so lets just⌠do it before I chicken out.â
They both got seated, and clicked into place. Dylan wastaking rapid breaths, trying to calm himself, and he kept looking around likeheâd find the answer to all of his problems if he tried hard enough, butâŚ
Ian grinned at him, reaching over to momentarily take hishand. âItâll be fine.â
âIan, I love you, but you canât say that with a seriousface.â Dylan said flatly.
-----
Not that there was much time to look at Ian while contemplatingthe 8000 ways he could possibly die, but he clearly clearly heard Ian screaming along side him, and somehow that wasthe most comforting thing that could have happened short of just not fuckingriding the damn roller coaster, but it was done. All of his hair was blown tothe left, and he felt like the world was still spinning, but looking over atIan, who looked approximately twice as bad off and 3 times as dizzy, all Dylancould do was laugh.
âWhat, did you enjoy it?â Ian asked, catching his breath.
âHell no!!!!â Dylan said, amidst another giggle fit. âButnow they canât say I never did it, so, Iâm glad I did it.â
Ian snorted as they were released from their captive chairs, but immediately grabbed for Dylan as he watched the boy take two steps andstumble. âWoah now-â
âUh⌠now that Iâve at least done it once, please--- pleasetalk me out of it if I ever have the dumb idea of doing it againââ Dylan saidwarily, getting back to his feet with his boyfriends help.
âSure thing.â
either "im gonna protect you." or âDonât touch her/him!â holly gays i feel so holly jolly right now god adamn i love you
"im gonna protect you." or âDonât touch her/him!AKA the holly jollies get in some trouble again.
âJustâHold on- keep still, Iâm gonna protect you.â
âAw, ainât that sweet?â The two men laughed as Ian reachedhis hand across to stand protectively in front of Dylan, shielding most of thesmaller boy with most of his body. They had been cornered in a small alley onthe edge of town and things werenât looking good.
âLook at that?â They yanked Dylan by his backpack causinghim to squeal in panic, letting go of the bag he had in his hands. Ian movedagainst the action, turning towards Dylan to grab him and hold him still.
âItâs an Asagao pack!â the robber with the red winter hatturned to his buddy, who had his own matching black cap. âAsagao is thatrich-kid school, ainât it?â
Black cap nodded thoughtfully. âYea, yea! I heard somepretty valuable shit there, huh?â Both men eyed Dylan who shrunk back. âPrettyvaluable shit.â
âAnd itâs mine.âIan said, his eyes furrowed.
Dylan took a sharp breath, his gaze shooting back andforward between the duo and Ian.
âSo what do you want, huh? Cash? School shit? If you let mego, Iâll get it for you.â
âWe ainât dumb, kid. Your penniless friend can go- but youâregoing to be our Payday.â
Ian gave Dylan a subtle shove, moving him away. âSo youâlllet him go if I come with you?â
âIan, donâtââ Dylanâs voice was trembling. âIâIanâIanââ
âBring the car around.â Red cap nodded to black cap, and theblack capped man sprinted off. Out of his pocket, the remaining man produced aknife. âAlright, alright, tonight weâre hitting it big.â
Ian quickly turned to Dylan, placing a hand on each one ofhis shoulders, and looking him square in the eye. âListen to me. Youâre justgoing to take the train home.â He was careful not to verbally clue the man into Dylan being another student. âGo home and donât say anything, alright?â
âB-But--- Butââ Big tears spilled from his eyes- he was soscared, he was so fucking scared. Her grabbed Ianâs arms, his own handstrembling. Everything in his brain was telling him that if Ian went with thesemen, heâd never been seen again. Something was telling him that Ian wouldsurely die. âPlease d-donât do this---â
âI said I would do anything to protect you, and I fuckingmean it-â Ianâs voice cracked- he was nervous. Was his eyes a little watery, too?? Dylan couldnât tell. It was so dark out, and he felt like none of thiswas real.
âCome on kid, we ainât got all night.â
Ian stumbled back as the man yanked him by his black andyellow jacket. Dylanâs arms reached out for him, his voice crying out to thenight âDONâT TOUCH HIM!â
Heâs not sure if he did it with intention or if he tumbleddown by accident, but with his whole measly weight and all the added help momentumwould allow, Dylan pitched himself, hands out, directly at the robber, knockingall three of them down. The snow on the ground broke their fall, as did therobber broke his, but blinking warily, he found a consistent stinging pain inhis hand. He lifted it up, and could just made out the redâ
âDylan!!â
His mind was hazy with panic, but someone was yanking him tohis feet. Something had his leg, but the first figure kicked at the second, andsoon he was free. Everyone was yelling- it was terrible and his heart wastrying to leap up his throat and burst out of his chest. Ahhâthe pain in hisleft hand- the hand the figure had in theirs, it hurt, but it let him know hewas here, and he was now⌠and it was cold⌠and he was running.
âDylan? Dylan.â
The lights were warmer now. Dylan blinked away more tears, and rubbed at his eyes, wincing at the pain again of his left hand. It stungnow. Dylan blinked again. It was the train station?
âHey, hey, you here with me?â Ian asked.
Dylan nodded shakily. âYouâre lip is bleedingâŚâ
âHey, youâre the guy who ran at a guy with a knife.â He tookDylanâs hand, taking his hankerchief from his pocket (the one with the moose inthe corner that Dylan had gotten him forever ago as a joke gift) and tying itaround the cut. âI canât believe⌠I canât believe that youââ
âIan, your hands are shaking.â
âFuck. Fuck DylanI was so scared for you.â
âFor me?â Dylanasked. âYouâre⌠They were gonna⌠take you.â Saying that almost brought hispanic back. âI was scared.â A fewmore tears spilled down his cheek. âYou would have been gone. I canât be⌠Icant be here without you.â
Ian wordlessly pulled him into a hug, squeezing him tightlybefore pulling away to look at him. âLets go home.â
Dylan nodded tiredly, holding his arms up. Slowly, Ianhelped him onto his feet, and soon they were in the train car, sitting silentlyas the countryside passed them by.
The younger boy was already drifting off. He was so spentfrom the last⌠however long ago it was. That had been enough excitement for thenext 8 years as far as he was concerned. He was just glad he was taking thisride with Ian.
âThanks Dylan.â Ian said softly.
âHmâŚ?â He was leaning on Ianâs shoulder, but glanced up towatch him continue to stare at the window.
Ian waited just a moment, but scrubbed at his eyes. âUhâŚJust--- thank you. And I love you.â He glanced back down at him. âI just---want you to know that.â
Dylan nodded, holding onto him tight. âI love you too.â
