This Ham and Leek Quiche recipe by Jamie Oliver is a delightful combination of savory flavors. The creamy filling with diced ham and sautéed leeks nestled in a flaky pie crust makes for a perfect brunch or lunch option.
Ingredients: 1 store-bought pie crust. 200g ham, diced. 1 leek, thinly sliced. 4 large eggs. 200ml heavy cream. 100g grated cheddar cheese. Salt and pepper to taste. A pinch of nutmeg. Fresh parsley for garnish.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 180C 350F. Place the store-bought pie crust into a pie dish and trim any excess dough. In a frying pan, saut the sliced leek in a little oil until softened, then set aside. Spread the diced ham and sauted leek evenly over the pie crust. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, grated cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg. Pour the egg mixture over the ham and leek in the pie crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the quiche is set and the top is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
