Bruce had been gone for -- Natasha made herself stop counting the days. It wasn’t good for her and she had to let it go. Dwelling wouldn’t bring him back, it would only make things worse for herself. He was gone, sunk a Quinjet to the bottom of the ocean and made a break for it. Fine. If he didn’t want to see her, then she wouldn’t pursue the issue any further.
Except one day she turned around and there he was. The cup of coffee in her hand shattered on the floor, but her expression was schooled as ever. “Thought you skipped town,” she stated.
