#brooklynprotest

This is a copy of a little screed I just posted to the Facebook thread about the on-going Kimani Gray protests in East Flatbush. 

See, there was a big march (well, no where near as big as it coulda been) in Brooklyn today that could have been a real turning point in the effort to  grow the Kimani Gray protests beyond East Flatbush, but instead is, once again, a foot note thanks to some real 20th century thinkers (or non-thinkers) who just can't seem to learn from past mistakes. I've seen these folks smother one promising effort after another, and I really think it's way past due we started sending them some memorandums of concern with bricks attached, to paraphrase our dear departed Charlie Barnett. 

So to dispense with the verbose forwords, my screed:

For starts, I just want to say for the record that I'm not a Marxist for the same reason I'm not a Newtonian. Great analysis, buggy solutions, and limited applicability, much like Newtonian physics and it's attendant age-of-steam technologies. Some things make sense in a certain context, but once that context is past, they're more like religious sects, waiting for their messiah to come again, endlessly promising that his return is imminent, and the faithful will be saved and the wicked expunged.

That having been said, I'd like to admonish a particular group of Scientology-like Lemmings that REAL Bolsheviks mask their agendas and identities, the better to infiltrate and take advantage of more moderate progressive movements and hijack them once their rise to power is a fait accompli but consolidation is still to be achieved. People who go around declaring "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! I'M A SUBVERSIVE! SEE ALL THE COPS? THEY'RE SCARED OF ME! I MUST BE BAAAAAAAD!!!!

Now, THAT having been said, may I say for the record that I was as thoroughly underwhelmed by todays appearance of the afore-mentioned Reactionary Cartoonist's Parody as I would have been had Westboro Baptist Chruch suddenly decided that they and they alone should lead our march, crosses pinned to their shirts and prayers blazoned across their chests, which they each paid only $9.95 happily for the privilege of displaying on their chests as a public affirmation of their deluded faith. I have to wonder if you realize the extent to which you make cointelpro like undertakings by the establishment so much less expensive, and some times entirely unnecessary. After all, why waste valuable resources infiltrating and discrediting spontaneous locally-led social change movements when their so called allies are willing to do it for the established order for peanuts?

So, while as individuals, I might have otherwise welcomed your participation and support, as cult members of the scientology of radical politics, seeking to hijack a spontaneous local uprising, and make of it a blood sacrifice to your dead god Xenu, I would kindly appreciate it if you and the Blac Blockers would all just go out for drink together, or engage in some flagellation and mortification or whatever it is you do for fun, and do it somewhere else.
