Hi! I'd love a recommendation for my book club. We've read some heavier books recently so looking for something on the lighter side that still gives us lots to discuss. We are all avid reader so chances are good that we have already read some of the more well-liked and well-promoted books. We try to read paperbacks and stay in the 350 page range. Thanks so much!

The Hottest Dishes of the Tartar Cuisine, Alina Bronsky: both funny and dark, and not too heavy
Books and Islands in Ojibwe Country, Louise Erdrich: a beautiful, tiny gem of a book about the power of words
A Tale for the Time Being, Ruth Ozeki: not the absolute lightest, but not at all heavy, and with multiple storylines to dig into
The Engagements, Courtney Sullivan: Sullivan always manages to make us think while moving the plot along really well
Woodsburner, John Pipkin: a weirdly delightful novel about Thoreau in his younger, fire-starter days
Safe as Houses, Marie-Helene Bertino: a short story collection that is wry, smart, and funny
