At school once, we made God's Eyes - rifling through all the different yarns and wools was my favourite part. I remember selecting a violent orange thread to use for the centre as it reminded me of orange Smarties, which for some reason was a good thing.

Putting aside the spiritual notions of God's Eyes, Brook&Lyn's beautiful woven windows are like grown-up versions of my childhood God's Eye. Founded in 2009, Brook&Lyn are a creative studio making art and objects that "blend new and nostalgic experiences", and these mixed media pieces perfectly sum up this approach, hanging elegantly like abstract tapestries.

I love the swatches of different colours and textures, like woolen grass skirts fusing with intricate friendship bracelets. What's nice is that you know the mish-mash of it all is considered, with aesthetics weaving seamlessly with subtle narratives that take me back to my school days.
