I don't think I had any optimism about them cause this is kinda their only answer to Blackfish. "Look, bigger tanks, so get off our backs." Doesn't really address any of the other hundreds of complaints.
I was only optimistic in that it would at least be a small improvement in their quality of life. SeaWorld was at least taking enough of an initiative to do the LEAST they could do for the whales rather than simply ignoring that Blackfish is having any impact on people at all. but the more I'm thinking about it, the more I think it really won't help the whales at all if they're just going to use these tanks to AI more young females and stuff the tanks with more and more BABY SHAMUS!

I've been thinking the same thing.
Yeah, my optimism about the bigger tanks lasted about a day before I realized they're just going to wind up filling them within a few years.
