Finding a way to the King of hearts' castle is definitely less simple than Ava thought. Or perhaps it is the forest's fault, this time -- she's in Wonderland, after all.
She doesn't feel like the trees are wrapping themselves around her, neither does she believes they could have such ill intentions towards a newcomer. She does come from another realm, a peaceful one that is. Hopefully the Fairies' reputation is good enough, or pure enough, for the magic in this realm to recognize its righteousness.
Ava is no fairy. She is a human girl, indeed: she was raised by Fairies and has learned magic, but her time had come to leave the Fairies for good. Such was the compromise of her faith as a gifted orphan.
She continues walking straight ahead, hopeful and determined for a good future. She has a plan in mind: in exchange for a shelter from the King, she provides him with magical protection and defense against those who wish him evil.
Not a bad bargain, right? She looks up in the dense branches, lost in her thoughts. She believes she sees something moving.
At last! A helping hand! Ava stops moving, and asks the being in the trees: "Hello! May I ask for you help, friend?"
