Teacher Can You Teach Me? || Brokenbiochemist
He always managed to get Jemmaâs mind spinning with such minimal effort. It could almost be admired if it werenât so completely and utterly off putting. The girl faltering as she looked at her teacher, tense to the point she was almost frozen on the spot no matter how much instinct was telling her to just walk away before this became completely and utterly out of hand⌠if it hadnât already. Right now she wasnât certain what to think of this and it showed, jumping a little as his fingers brushed her hair off her face, already close enough that it was impossible to shift without being aware of exactly how near he was.
Before his classes, sheâd easily been a straight A student. She liked learning, tried hard, and yet with Ward it never seemed enough. Grades painfully average unless she agreed to completely and utterly bury herself in so many extra help sessions that she barely had time for a life outside of it. So of course, his comment that this wasnât about her grade was almost laughable because at the moment everything was about her grades.Â
Still, she couldnât bite back a sharp noise at being moved. Instinct alone having her hands move to his shoulders for the sake of balance. Voice smaller and less steady than intended. âFitz?â Why would her friend not tell her about that? The confusion on her face only growing. âI just⌠this doesnât seem appropriate?â It wasnât, was it? Jemma wasnât certain no matter how hard she tried to think. âI mean⌠I justâŚâ Dammit. Shifting back a little so she wasnât leaning so close, Jemma shrugged.Â
The fact Jemma hadn't walked away was a good sign. He was a bit worried when he first brought it up. Just because the idea had worked a few days prior on Fitz didn't mean it would work on Jemma. Despite the two being extremely similar their temperaments were different. Fitz was easier to manipulate in the sense he could stun the boy much easier then he could stun Jemma. Currently. He simply tossed that up to the fact he knew Fitz had a lot less positive interaction with people then Jemma did though they both were significantly deprived in what proper romantic relationships were like. That's what made this easy.Â
It should have been easy for the girl to walk away if what he'd been building up to had failed him. The moment 'seduction' left his mouth most if not all girls would leave. Or rather, the ones that didn't already pine over him would. But those girls weren't any fun. While FitzSimmons were easy to manipulate it was in a much more complex way. Like series of puzzles. He had to be careful with the moves he made with each despite them being two different prizes.Â
Jemma getting a C was almost too easy to explain away. He'd mentioned it here and there to his colleges, just encase someone tried to suddenly accuse him of not playing fair. Yes, the students he taught were scientists and many weren't the best of writers. His thumb rubbed at the skin between her shirt and pants when he heard the noise. "Yes, Fitz. And it all depends on how you look at it. I'm just trying to help you."Â
