I woke up in your bed this morning bleary eyed and swollen lipped. I'm exasperated, lying here next to you, my mind doing tumbles that crest and break like hurricane waves with every breath that escapes my body. I'm so scared of you. and for the life of me I cannot fathom why you stay. why you continue to place your arms around me. I wanted to grasp the world by its aching limbs. and instead I fell into you. you are sleeping and it is bad timing and for the first time in three weeks, the light in your room is not blinding me into consciousness. instead it is you.
