Not even Superman could get Bruce to see reason in the face of the Ethiopia incident, and considering how much Bruce wants to believe in Clark's way of seeing the world, that is saying something.

Just because Bruce knows he can't operate with the same attitude towards humanity, doesn't mean Bruce isn't a little bit envious of the light side, so to speak.

And here I bring in how Tim knows Batman intimately, but figuring out Bruce the person came later.

And that, is a critical difference in the partnership. Bruce has no trust in Tim, because that Robin is not his Robin, at first.

And age gap codependency discussion aside, mentor and parental figures do define who they are as a person in relation to the child they are in charge of.

So while Tim can save Batman, Bruce is free to keep doom spiraling. Compartmentalization at it's finest, people.

Bruce only gets involved when Tim is actually losing footing in the *real world*, where the priorities of nighttime adventure and keeping up daytime appearances begin to get warped.

This isn't about blaming Bruce, as I am firmly in the court of that man can hardly take care of himself. There's a difference of having an obligation, and being equipped to fulfill that duty.
