Dingo usually tended to sit on the floor, not because anyone 'trained' him to, but because he was just too damn big. It's easier to sit on the ground, not like he isnt comfortable. When Plum invited him over he wasnt sure what to think, but he didnt want to upset the candy skeleton by declining. Now, here he was and after careful thinking he rest upon Plum's lap, his way of asking for pets.
Plum, as it turned out, was more than happy to give the big, irish dog-man the pets he sought out so subtly, happily stroking a hand over the larger skeletons head, eyes closed in a happy smile as they watched a movie. Of course, petting the large man meant that trickle of drool that was always present would turn into a full-fledged waterfall, darkening the yellow and black colors of that hoodie.
And even later still, when Dingo inevitably fell asleep on him, making his legs go numb in record time thanks to dead weight, he would continue petting him.
Because Dingo was a good, large friend, and Plum liked him very much.
