The End of Baseball as We Know It
I swear the MLB is trying to destroy baseball. The instant replay in baseball is possibly the worst thing that could have ever happened. Baseball was a game of uncertainty and integrity. It used to be a game you could dig your teeth into. Now with the instant replay it takes the emotions and fun away. We have a summer collegiate team in my hometown and every time I go to a game, one of my favorite parts is yelling at the umps and complaining about bad calls. The crowd gets so into it and people bond over their mutual anger at the umpires. The instant replay in major league baseball takes that away. There is no more screaming at the umps over whether that guy was safe or if he was totally out. Now they want to make the game shorter and are pitching the idea of cutting it to only seven innings. What are they doing. Keep baseball the way it was.
