giving  a  soft  groan  ,  he  placed  his  fingers  at  his  temples  before  glancing  up  at  his  companion  who  was  nestled  up  in  the  rafters  of  his  ship  .  ‘  could  you  PLEASE  be  a  little  less  helpful  ?  ’  he  asked  ,  leaning  against  the  console  ,  head  down  &&  trying  to  think  .  ‘  all  this  incessant  talking  is  going  to  give  me  an  EARLY  DEATH  .  &&  i  was  hoping  to  go  see  star  wars  this  weekend  .  ’   he  cleared  his  throat  &&  glanced  tentatively  at  the  scanner  before  dipping  his  head  down  again  .

New years has never really applied to them - it’s never really had any importance. As a Time Lord, he’s seen more than his fair share and he’s certain she has as well. Still, this one feels a little different to the rest of them. They’re on Earth and it’s the 34th Century. She’s behaving, so far as he’s aware. That, and she’s been a rock since he’d told her about Gallifrey and the confession dial. He owes it to her to give her a chance.

He sees this as their fresh start.

That was the question  wasn’t it? Sometimes his mind ran so fast he didn’t even know what he was thinking about. So many ideas are firing off at once that he has to take a second and collect them all. 

“I’m thinking it’s time we go home. We’ve been running for far too long. I miss it.”
