I spent the last few days at a photography workshop in Iceland, and a frequent topic is “who are your ideal clients?” What I can say is this: please give me all the goofy, hilarious, go with the flow, not afraid to be weird/be themselves couples. Please and thank you. With such a wide market of photographers to choose from, it’s so important that you can relate to your photographer. While yes we are professionals and can work with anyone surely, it just makes the day so much better when you click with your photographer. Are you goofy and bubbly and bohemian and indie and rock and roll? Look for a like-minded photographer *cough me*. Are you more posh and sophisticated and like the traditional old-world romance? There’s a whole market just for you (I got names to shoot your way)! Case in point. ✔️ Are you camera shy? Here are a few tips from our in-house photographers on the Wedding Beauty Team. 📸 (Part 1) 💭 We get it! Sometimes an engagement session is the first time you’ll be meeting your wedding photographer, so it’s natural to be nervous about striking an awkward pose in front of an almost-stranger. 1. Chatting with your photographer should be the first step! (Shooting right away would be super awkward) 2. Pick a location that you will be comfortable in! (Don't pick a beach if you don't want to get sandy!) 3. Don't be afraid to ask for direction. Usually when a photographer is quite you are doing great!
