Teamwork Helps Med Assets Group Handle Corporate Change

There’s nothing quite like the stress that comes with the type of corporate change that accompanies corporate buy-out.

Med Assets was recently purchased by Vizient, but they seem to be handling it all in stride. We think it has a lot to do with teamwork!

Med Assets is located in El Segundo, CA, just outside of Los Angeles. Their company is undergoing some major change right now, as they manage the details of changing hands at the top levels. For the employees, that entails staying strong on the teamwork side of things and maintaining open lines of communication throughout the entire process.

That’s where we can help any company: teamwork and communication. Med Assets needed a good boost of morale-lifting teamwork and they chose a bicycle charity workshop. Great choice!

Building Bicycles to Strengthen Teamwork Amidst Corporate Change- Great Idea!

This workshop was held on site, in a conference room in a Med Assets building. We were able to clear away furniture to make an open space conducive to the interactive style of this charity workshop.

The Med Assets group was comprised of software developers, QA staff, Customer Support, consultants who implement the software, project managers, sales people, account managers, etc. In other words: it was a very diverse group!

The various participants from different departments didn’t know one another very well, so one of the goals was to help everyone communicate better and feel more cohesive as one company team.

The group had fun, worked well together, got to know and trust staff from different functional areas, and improved their communication skills. That’s a lot! Plus, of course they built bicycles, too.

How did this group accomplish so much? One thing we’ve learned is that when you start out with a open environment and create a judgement-free zone for team building workshops, almost anything is possible.

Bicyles Went to Kids at Bresee

Reps from Bresee brought the kids and even some parents for our donation ceremony at the end of the workshop. The energy in the room was wonderful, as the teams got to meet some of the kids and see their smiling faces as they picked up their brand new bicycles.
