Closing the Circle: Reflections on the Last Day of Transcendental Breathing
last day of trancendental breathing
Photo by Ale Romo on Unsplash Here I am writing about the eighth day of transcendental breathing practice. I find myself under the covers, listening to Ludovico Einaudi while reflecting on the important things to share with you. It hasn’t been an easy journey, not even a bit, due to a series of ups and downs that have prevented me from fully enjoying it. Today I have a cold, still have a bit…

#30DaysMagicalRootsChallenge - Day 3
Over on the Any Witch Way Discord, the mods have decided to run Plentiful Earth’s #30DaysMagicalRoots Challenge for the month of April. The challenge is a way to revisit your magical roots, or explore different aspects of magical practice if you’re new to it
Day 3 - Centering/Breath-Work
Spend 5 minutes today (and every day this challenge) focusing on your breath. Notice your breath as it enters and leaves your body. Try alternating between breathing in through the left nostril and out through the right. Use your fingers to close each nostril if you need the extra assistance. Try to increase this from 5 minutes to more as you do this every day this month.
So this is not within my understanding or experience, so I'm not going to sit here and try to explain it to you. Personally, conscious breathing doesn't work for me. I start to feel like I'm not getting enough air which causes anxiety, then I have difficulty remembering how to breath normally which can lead to panic. Due to this, I used todays topic to drive me to research centering, but I mostly found breathwork and activities that sounded a lot like grounding. Honestly, I'm still a little muddled on the differences so if anyone has any insight please feel free to share!
Here's one of the more thorough and informative articles I found, it is quite long.
And here's a relaxing little TikTok that a friend made to accompany mindful breathing, for those who find it helpful!
My breath-work in yoga today felt so productive. Even now, 2 hours later, I can feel a difference in my breathing, my muscle tightness, and my overall mood. I need to work on tapping into that as often as possible.
