Last night Don Staley and I went to see a group called Brassed Off that mostly covers angry Rage Against the Machine songs but with this full band, which is very entertaining, in its politically charged way. They also covered other songs, including “Sabotage” by the Beastie Boys which I recognized without help, and Don identified a Black Sabbath song I didn’t know right as it started. Then the singer and guitar player left the stage long enough for the horns to play this great arrangement of #ledzeppelin ’s “Kashmir.” Baritone sax player and tuba guy seemed to have lungs like Lance Armstrong. Impressive and fun except for the rage part which I guess is wrong to describe as fun.
