@Regrann ▶ @archon_turtle - PART 2 OF 3 Now that I’ve set that stage, I want to put a pin in that and talk about our GoFundMe page. I’m not going to link it here, because I’m sure some of you would think that would be self-serving. For the purposes of this conversation, you only need to know that there is one. That GoFundMe page doesn’t exist because Heather and I are destitute, or because we can’t afford her treatment. It exists so that people who want a tangible way to help Heather, have the ability to do so. Obviously, unless you are a radiologist or an oncologist, you can’t actually help fight cancer. Scores of people want to know every day “what can I do to help?” The GoFundMe page gives them a way to do that. And if you were to go look at that page, it says exactly that. We are very up front and honest about what the page is for, and what that money is spent on. Every single penny goes toward a “bucket list” event for Heather, or directly toward a cost generated by her fight against cancer. So. Back to the topic of the importance of feeling normal. If you’ve followed this account for any length of time, you’ve probably realized that retro video game collecting is my thing. It’s my escape. It’s the hobby I use to distract me from the horror of our reality. And it works. My collection is a healthy way for me to escape from all of this when the days get really dark.
