MR.EWOKONE - Brainlington
Another vinyl toy post, this time from urban artist MR.EWOKONE. Ā BrainglingtonĀ is an adorably weird creature who began as a graffiti design. Ā The original 'OG' versionĀ is shown above,Ā but there were otherĀ variantsĀ including my favourite the SKILLERWHALE.
The first time I saw the Brainlington figure, I knew I wanted one immediately. Ā Nothing was going to stop me... except for the price. Ā The world of designer toys means that artists are taking the medium seriously, so limited sets and variants are produced at gallery prices. Ā I don't resent this andĀ I really do feel that it respects the artists by not cheapening their work. Ā Unfortunately, this also means that I can't afford the majority of the figures that I really want. Ā Brainglington is available now on Mighty Jaxx for $80, which would be worth it if I had the salary to support my obsessions.
