@braindamxge ( itâs time to begin this monstrosity )
Her heart, un-beating as it may be, tells her âdo it now, or you never willâ. She desires to ignore it, to stay her hands at scratching that itch, to avoid the fact that sheâs actually afraid of dying yet knows it is something she must do ââ time itself will crumble and turn to dust if she doesnât, starts would fade from existence and the rest of the universe would follow. Some events are able to be changed, she knows this as fact, while others... others must happen. Clara let out a sigh as she reached the controls; itâs been a long while since sheâs checked her wrist for a pulse, and there was no surprise within her to still find no pulse echoing beneath her skin. Her death was still fixed, she still had to go.
Now or never gently turned into soon... she still wanted just a little longer, not to wander the stars, but to simply drift within the vortex as if she were lost at sea. The space-time coordinates for Gallifrey rest on the screen, the very same one she cannot stop staring at. Already sheâs commanded the TARDIS to hone in on Ashildr after she gives the command; Clara couldnât say goodbye to her, but left without notice... she would understand.
And so she drifts, through space and through time; so long has she spent running away... or was she always running towards this ââ towards death? Clara was moments, mere seconds, away from pulling the lever and beginning the materialization circuit, the motion that sheâs done thousands of times and yet she hesitates... long enough to acknowledge that sheâs afraid, and more than enough time to then feel something and to hear the cloister bell ring through the TARDIS. When she looks up, towards the screen, her gaze never made it there but instead landed upon someone in the control room with her, and it was not of her doing.
Clara didnât know how to react but to step around the controls and investigate... âHow did you get in here?â she asked, kneeling down at the manâs side, though hesitant to touch him âââ sure, she was interested in the why, but the answer to how was far more intriguing to her curious mind.
